RUMORS“Mama Cuellar must buy her ingredients from el diablo,”“Mama Cuellar must buy her ingredients from el diablo,” said one man after tasting Mama’s tamales in disbelief, “they’re just too good.” Others said Mama had enchilada sauce in her blood. Some even attest to witnessing Mama turn avocados into guacamole with a snap of her fingers.

These legends were justifi ed: Mama had 12 children to raise, a house to maintain & a tamale tienda to grow. So as the demand for Mama’s cooking increased, El Chico was born. Every now & then, you’ll hear these stories about Mama. We’ll leave it up to you to decide what’s fact & what’s legend.
