FIVE QUESTIONSWhat do people think about the Bible?

Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he

asked his disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"

And they said, "Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and

others Jeremiah or one of the prophets." He said to them, "But who

do you say that I am?" (Matthew 16:13-15 ESV).

Jesus was interested in what the crowds thought about him.Back then, their thoughts were drawn from personal experience — 

Jesus was right there with them! Today, everything we know about

Jesus comes from the Bible. Faith in Jesus is basically dependent on

Scripture. Defending, or even just explaining why we follow Jesus is

awful hard to do credibly unless we can trust the Bible and show

why we do. That’s what this class is about. 

 Mormons say: “After the Book of Mormon was published, Joseph

Smith began translating the Bible to put back the missing truths”

(LDS.org).

 Muslims say: “We must first of all know that the entire Bible is

corrupted and unreliable and is mostly filled with man-made laws

and corruption!”
