Dear Friends in Christ,
" I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
~Philippians 3:14c | ESV As I begin to write this letter, the only words that come to mind are, Thank You. Thank you for all the love and support you have given to me over these thirteen years. Thank you for welcoming Nicole and me into your family. Thank you for the prayers and support you gave us when Robert and Jacob were born and in the hospital. Thank you for helping me discern a call to the priesthood. Thank you for supporting us financially while in Seminary. Thank you for all the ways I have been able to minister to you as your priest. But, above all, thank you for being the image of Christ to me. It was through you I came to know Jesus, and for that I will be eternally grateful. To be honest, a part of me is still a bit shocked that we are now saying goodbye. Our lives have been intertwined over these past several years and it seems strange that we are now called upon to let go of each other; to watch from a distance how God will work in each others' lives. But we must let go, because our love for Jesus calls us to let go. There have been many changes over this past year, but the one constant is Jesus Christ. Jesus has always been here with us and will remain here with us. And, if we allow the Holy Spirit to lead the way, then no matter what change comes, we will always have a mission to know Christ and to make him known. I've been thinking a lot about Paul's letter to the Philippians lately. He writes, "I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:14c | ESV) To some degree, this letter is a farewell letter from Paul. Paul was in prison at this time, and most likely knew he was saying goodbye to this young church. At times, our pressing on toward the upward call of God means saying a painful goodbye. But, that goodbye does not diminish the love, support or hope we have for each other. Trinity, on this side of heaven, you will forever be my home, have my love and be in my prayers. Yours in Christ,
Fr. Patrick

Dear Sisters and Brothers at Trinity, As I start my faith journey with you, I thank God for the opportunity given me to walk with you during this transition period in the church’s life. It is a special privilege as a priest to be able to hear and celebrate with you all that God has done in and through you under the leadership of Fr. Tom and Fr. Patrick, and a great honor to be able to prayerfully discern where God might be calling you next. I am so touched by the welcome I have received from everyone and I hope that in the coming days I will get to know you all in a deeper way. Some of you have asked me, what exactly does an interim priest do? I will be doing all that a priest is expected to do of being engaged in ministry together with you all as God’s people, called to live and to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ in this world. Along with all that you are already doing and will continue to do, Scripture does remind us, for everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1), and times of transition are as much of a holy time as all other times. In this Easter Season, I would like to spend time understanding how I can show that I serve a living Lord; to be able to welcome changes as a part of my journey with Him. Transitions are, I believe, God ordained seasons to recount His faithfulness so that we can in courage and in faith embrace the new call He gives us as His partners in ministry.
I hope to spend time listening to your faith stories as individuals, as ministry leaders and as a worshipping community so that together we can all prepare for how our Lord wants Trinity Church to stand witness of His Resurrection in the coming days and years. May the Lord give you the joy and excitement of being engaged with Him in His holy work of transformation from one glory to another. Your sister in Christ, Ajung Sojwal Interim Rector
EVANGELISM TEAM UPDATE
Rejoice in Hope, Be Patient in Tribulation, Be Constant in Prayer Romans 12:12
Maybe you and I have something in common. Maybe you and I are sometimes afraid to share the Gospel for fear of being rebuffed or rejected. That is pretty normal. That’s also the time to use our secret weapon, Prayer! We can pray for God to lead someone to us who God wants to hear the Gospel. Whenever I have done this God invariably sends someone to me with an open heart to hear the Word. If we ask God to send us seekers, He will be glad to do so! The scripture above talks about not only prayer but also love. If we model love and practice prayer we will be powerful weapons in God’s hands.
The Evangelism Team meets monthly to discuss ways to reach out to others with the Gospel. Some things we discussed this month include: The photo directory progress, re-establishing regular pot lucks, “First Saturdays” prayer, praise and witness (a new idea in the works), Emmaus 56, and communicating what we do through the Trinity Website.
Submitted by: John Nagy, on behalf of your Evangelism Team: Carolyn Clement, Lu Cascio, Lori Ferreira, Fred Fitzgerald, Judy Gessford, Kathy Oakes, Tara Smith, Jeff Sutton, Dana Wild, Kathy Zirolli, Rev. Patrick Bush

These children received the Sacrament of Holy Communion for the first time on May 21st at the 9:45 am. service. May God Bless them all and may
this Sacrament draw them closer to our Lord every time they receive it.
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. OUR HEALING MINISTRY
PONDERING
The Spirit of the Lord fills the whole world, alleluia, alleluia. In Him all
things have their being.
Praying in my own words intimated me; I would cringe if I thought I was going to be asked to lead/close in prayer. I was worried I wouldn’t say the right words or I would use the same standard words. Praying alone was safer, only God was listening to me no one else could hear. God is giving us permission to pray with each other. Not just giving permission but imploring us to do so. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matthew 18:19-20 Most already know or have personally felt the power of prayer when someone prays for us from a distance, but praying together has such great advantages, this power is magnified. As we pray together hearing our words aloud build each other up in faith. The simple touch of our hands allows us to feel God flowing through us. When we pray together we truly sense the love and healing power of Jesus. We all have the gift to pray with someone and He will provide the right words as you let him into your heart. ~Judy

June 4th – Day of Pentecost
1 Corinthians 12:7…..The Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us as a means of helping the entire church.
At the time we come to faith in Christ, every believer receives at least one spiritual gift…not merely to encourage and build up our own relationship with the Lord, but to edify the entire church.
Heavenly Father as I turn to You, the Author, teach me as I read Your Word today. I want to hear from You, to know You, and to grow closer to You. In Your Son’s name…..
June 11th – First Sunday after Pentecost
Psalm 37:4-7….Be delighted with the Lord. Then He will give you all your heart’s desires. Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust Him to help you do it, and He will. Your innocence will be clear to everyone. He will vindicate you with the blazing light of justice shining down as from the noonday sun. Rest in the Lord; wait patiently for Him to act. Don’t be envious of evil men who prosper.
God wants to be the greatest passion of every believer’s life. If we claim to love the Lord, our connection with Him should have priority over possessions, vocation, and even other relationships. Yet we often miss the true message of Psalm 37:4 by assuming the verse means we can get what we want. It’s not uncommon for someone to tell me about a prayer request and then add, “God promised to give me the desires of my heart.” In fact, believers at times are so fixed on an outcome that they take matters into their own hands to “help God out.” But in context, that scripture reveals the Lord’s principle for purifying our desires and issues a call for devotion to Him. To delight in the Lord means to take pleasure in discovering more about Him and following His will. This leads to the Holy Spirit aligning our heart’s desires with His, which always puts us in position to experience His blessings.
When we commit our way to God, we allow our thoughts, goals, and life style to be shaped by His will and the things He loves. In other words, we acknowledge His right to determine whether our longing fits His plan. If we rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him, then we will rely on Him to work out circumstances, even when the desire He’s given us seems impossible. When He is our first love, our hearts become focused on making His glory known in our life.
When we are aligned with His will, our Father wants to give us our heart’s desires…in His time. As we learn to enjoy Him for who He is, our self-focused wants are replaced by His perfect will and purpose for us.
Lord Jesus…You said You came to give me life to the fullest, but so often I have my own agenda and the wrong goals in mind. Please forgive me, and help me desire what You want.
June 18th – Second Sunday after Pentecost
Isaiah 55:1-3 Say there! Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink—even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine and milk—it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that doesn’t give you strength? Why pay for groceries that do you no good? Listen and I’ll tell you where to get good food that fattens up the soul! Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, for the life of your soul is at stake. I am ready to make an everlasting covenant with you, to give you all the unfailing mercies and
love that I had for King David.
I am sure you can relate when it comes to junk mail. There are times when I will get four or five invitations inviting me to attend free dinners, but you have to sit thru their sales pitch on retirement, real estate or life insurance. And of course they quickly get thrown away. But the invitation to a gathering honoring a longtime friend will quickly get an immediate reply ,…………………………………….
FOR FOR JUNE
“YES! I ACCEPT.” Invitation + Desire = Acceptance Isaiah 55:1 is one of the great invitations in the Bible. The Lord said to His people who were in difficult circumstances, “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.” This is God’s remarkable offer of inner nourishment, deep spiritual satisfaction, and everlasting life.
Jesus’s invitation is repeated in the last chapter of the Bible: “The Spirit and the bride, ‘Come!’ And let the one who hears say ‘Come!’ Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes take the free gift of the water of life.” We often think of eternal life as beginning when we die. In reality, it begins when we receive Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord.
God’s invitation to find eternal life in Him is the greatest invitation of all!
YES! I ACCEPT.” Invitation + Desire = Acceptance
Lord Jesus, thank You for Your promise of mercy, pardon, and eternal life. I acknowledge my failures and I know when having you Lord of my life, my life will change direction. In Your name….I pray
June 25th – Third Sunday after Pentecost
Psalm 126……When Jehovah brought back his exiles to Jerusalem, it was like a dream! How we laughed and sang for joy. And the other nations said, “What amazing things the Lord has done for them.”. Yes, glorious things! What wonder! What joy! May we be refreshed as by streams in the desert. Those who sow tears shall reap joy. Yes, they go out weeping, carrying seed for sowing, and return singing, carrying their sheaves.
Israel had years of great spiritual fruitfulness and vitality marked by joy. But communities of faith often have “Negev” times of great spiritual dryness (The Negev was an arid, desert like land.) Sometimes a flood of God’s spirit comes down powerfully and suddenly, like the streams from distant mountain rainstorms, and the community is restored dramatically. But there is also a slower path to renewal. Those who “sow with tears” are those who have painstakingly prayed and wept over their own sins and also over people without faith. As in actual farming, sowing does not show immediate fruit. But faithful prayer and service will eventually bear fruit. The desert will become a garden.
Lord, I am praying for my church, my country, and several people I love…that they will be spiritually empowered and renewed. Help me to rest in your timing, knowing that my tears in prayer are like seeds that will come in to fruition in the lives of those I care for. Amen.
