Calendar of Intercessions
Trinity and the Kingdom Season 2015
to this edition of the prayer diary*, which takes us through the last two months of Ordinary Time
(the remaining Sundays after Trinity) as well as that nebulous period
sometimes referred to as the ‘Kingdom Season’. It’s still a sizable document,
designed to be quick and clear to read, and also to leave space for your own notes. Of course, you do not have to print it all out at once, and you’re
welcome to reformat it, if you wish.
Sunday entries are designed to look at some of the bigger pictures in our
diocese – sometimes geographical (deaneries, archdeaconries, link dioceses)
sometimes issues or activities (Diocesan Big Day Out). If there is an aspect of diocesan life that you’d like included on a Sunday, do let me know. These are followed through the week by daily prayers from all over the diocese, and across the Anglican Communion, including the calendar of saints and heroes
of the Church.
This month I have not included the Porvoo cycle of prayer, because I have the sense that it is not being used. If I am wrong in this, do let me know and I
will happily reinstate it.
Finally, there is space in the daily entries for you to note any prayer requests
that have been made to you or your parish, or any special interests you want
to remember in your prayers.
Please contact me with any comments or suggestions –
[email protected] or 01634 814439. I will also be pleased to
provide large print copies to any who would find that helpful.
The calendar is published on the Diocesan website, and also on
www.RochesterWorship.wordpress.com where you can find the next quarter’s
intercessions (hopefully) as this quarter starts to come to an end.
*I apologise for the name of this edition, which sounds like a bad film, but it
was the best I could come up with.
Welcome

We have much to be thankful for as the Harare Link develops between people.
There are have been a number of visits in both directions, and relationships
are growing. We pray for the painful journey that the Zimbabwe community

Dartford Deanery
St Edmund, Temple Hill is celebrating is its 60th anniversary in September.
Many of the churches have been running summer holiday clubs for children
and some have put on a “holiday at home” for the elderly. There was a
Christian service as part of the Dartford Festival in July supported by various
churches in the deanery. Ecumenically, the churches are pursuing the idea of a
hostel for the homeless. Housing developments are changing the landscape
especially in the northern part of the deanery. Crockenhill, Hextable and Stone
continue to work on building plans. The three churches of Darent Valley
benefice are establishing a new pattern of services, rotating between the
churches. Deanery confirmation preparation begins in September for a service
at the end of November.

Mpwapwa
Praise God for the wonderful response from our Diocese, both in prayer and financial support, for Mpwapwa Diocese (and Kondoa Diocese) experiencing
drought. They know now they are not alone, and shall have food to eat and
seed to sow in the autumn.
Pray for refreshment and renewed strength for Archbishop Jacob as he leads
the Anglican Church in Tanzania as well as continuing in his role as Bishop of Mpwapwa. Also pray for his wife, Mwezwa, in her role as National Advisor to
the Mothers' Union and in the new initiative of annual gatherings for Bishops'
wives. Give thanks for the clergy, the MU and Diocesan team and schools staff.
Many teams will be visiting Mpwapwa Diocese this summer and early autumn: pray for safe travel and that the partnerships represented will be strengthened
and will grow. Praise God for the lives that have been touched over the past 10 years of this Diocesan partnership, which will be celebrated in early
October in Mpwapwa and here during our Partner Diocese Celebration Service
on 13 September. Please pray for wisdom and God's guidance for those seeking partnerships as they explore how to move forward. Please pray for the
