Orthoplan of area. Organization of the new Building blocks and green spaces

The facade module pattern creates intermediate living spaces, between the open and closed, public and private sectors.

The proposal includes the urban regeneration of a vast area in the North part of Bologna’s train station. Based on the existing detailed plan, the proposal explores the possibility of strengthening the central city park, the permeability of the surrounding build-ing blocks, the usability of public spaces and the quality of the nearby constructions. These assump-tions lead to the determination of generating semi-open city blocks, containers of various activities embracing a solid green texture. The tallest buildings find a brand new location due to their acoustic performance, which both mark and hierarchies public spaces and entrances in a kind of standardized intervention.
