Hello,
Spring is in the air and that means its time to warm up
and see all the great things happening in our 4-H programs. It
is also time to start thinking about what you want to bring to
the fair.
We have a lot of great programs this Spring. We have
already begun the fun with our Festival of the Arts and shoot-
ing sports programs and we will continue the fun with Foods
Revue, a Spring Clover College day, a rocketry project, our dog
obedience classes, pinewood derbies, and a whole lot more!
Get out there and take advantage of all the great pro-
grams we have going on and make sure you thank the wonder-
ful volunteers we have running them. Without our volunteers
we wouldn't have programs so let them know how important
they are!

horses, different projects coming in(animals, dog obedience (can be a spin off date), etc) try to
make it set up as having solid takeaways that they can have ready for the fair.

Trip attendance update: Hunter Anderson not going to American Experience due to conflict. We
will attempt to fill the spot.
Old Business
Youth Conference chaperones have been decided: Joanne Reinholt, and Lori Daley, alternates will
be Rosa Mooney and Brian Steinke. Isabelle applied for communications team
CPR training is available at a very minimal cost of $10 though Gundersen Tri-County Hospital and
Clinics. Lori is working on getting the certification that she spoke of last month. Further
discussion ensued to look at getting some type of training or education at the spring outdoor
education program.
New Business
Plat Books- Pat Smock will be taking some control of this again. Pat has been drafting a letter and will
send it in for proofing. Brian will be contacting people who would like to make a contact in person.
If anyone could get potential donors to Adam or Patrick Smock that would be helpful.
State Fair Banner- still working on this, having troubles with communication at the state fair level.
Little Miss/Mister Cloverbud program
Wendy is no longer involved in 4-H and she was the main person for this program. How would we
like to move forward? Heather has volunteered to look into it and Rosa has offered to as-
sist. The Ambassadors are, historically, quite involved, and can offer assistance too.
Any other new business
Kim asked if we could look at designing buttons for the kids who go on bigger trips. They could be
worn during the fair and especially during their food stand shift. Kim will look at designs,
pricing and bring it to the next meeting.
LB group for funding requests at larger events? Spring outdoor program during lunch or before
the event begins? Adam will contact Connie for further input.
Tentative date for the Pinewood Derby, Racing for a Reason, will be April 23 at GET school with a
noon check in time. A hopeful donation recipient will be the Veteran’s home in Strum or simi-
lar. Heather will report further on this when details are set.
Conclusion- Meeting concluded at 7:52 p.m. Motion to adjourn by Jeanette and second by Isabelle. We will meet
again on Jan 27, 6:00 p.m. at the Trempealeau County Courthouse, Tremplo Room.

Leader’s Board Funding Request Process:
We are publishing the funding request information and form. With new people always coming into the 4
-H program, we want everyone aware of the process to request funds for 4-H camps, trips, and educa-
tional activities. This information can also be found on the Trempealeau County website. Please read
through at your convenience. Instructions-Funding Request Form
The Trempealeau County 4-H Leaders Executive Board includes money in their budget to help defray
some costs of 4-H educational trips or activities in which Trempealeau County 4-H members and lead-
ers participate. The amount the Association is able to contribute in a given year depends on the success
of fund raising efforts, the amounts spent in other budget areas, and the number of applicants and lev-
el of requests.
A “Funding Request Form” has been developed for use when an individual or group is requesting mone-
tary support. Only 4-H Sponsored Events will be considered for reimbursement. Use of the form will
provide a consistent, concise approach for obtaining information. Once the Committee engages in dis-
cussion relative to the request, the requestor may be asked to leave the meeting and will be notified by
phone or mail of the Committee’s decision.
The 4-H Leaders Executive Board will evaluate the request and the applicant is asked to follow the
guidelines listed below. Currently, the Leaders Executive Board meets every month except December.
The form should be completed and turned in to the Extension office prior to the Executive Board
meeting and prior to participation in the trip or activity.
Please answer all questions completely so your request receives full attention. Individuals that receive
over $100.00 for a single event are expected to make a live presentation/action center or visual display
at one or more of the following events: Performing Arts Festival, Clover College, County Fair and/or
Summer Picnic. We would like individuals who receive funding for State Teams or major award trips to
help encourage participation in these activities. Participants may be asked to present information about
their experience following the trip or activity. The cost of events not specifically sponsored or co-
sponsored by 4-H or the Trempealeau County 4-H Leaders Executive Board will not be reimbursed. A
general club leader's signature is required before sending in the request form to the extension office.
If you should have questions about the form or the dates of the Executive Board meetings, please call
the Extension office at 715-538-2311 x210.
For reimbursement of money:

or to Executive Board Meeting and optional in person request at the monthly Leaders Executive
Board Meeting.
