The rooms are vibrant, bright and colourful with pla

starfish decor; living up to the Shangri-La standards des

the hotel is 32 years old. Golden Sands Resort

Shangri-La is recently redeveloped and has a lot to o

travellers, perfect for families. Our stay is short; we

many interesting travellers feeling the hotel is not simphotel but a second home.

Mrs Wilma Budke, a 80-year old German is an example

frequent traveler that often stays for 3 months in the h

to escape winter. “It’s an addictive place”.

Hotel offers 387 rooms and rates start from MYR 520 fo

Breakfast is casual. The venue’s interior is impressively designed in a

fresh, contemporary green-and-white décor, creating a relaxed and

inviting environment for breakfast. The restaurant serves a

combination of international and local favourites. With a lot of choices,

Tick tock, it was lunch time. Sigi’s Bar and Grill on

Beach is a fun, family-style restaurant by the be

and local Asian dishes. Our best bet was someth

locally popular – Nasi Goreng and Satay. It

indescribably delicious. Complete with spiciness,

local ingredients with herbs, we knew this is a pl

filled with yummy treats.

flowers…

Natural beauty fills the hotel’s garden. Patrons of the hotel are able

admire the national flower – the Hibiscus, every time you tak

walk to the recreational venues. In addition, we enjoyed learning

herbs and spices garden which the hotel planted and use for Sigi’s

part of its commitment to preserving environment.
