Our Transaction Real Estate practice, in conjunction with affiliated EY entities, combines professionals with broad real estate industry experience. Our team provides integrated, objective advice and a wide range of services to help evaluate opportunities and challenges and identify and implement customized strategies.
This includes strategic analysis and planning for real estate assets and portfolios, financing services, assisting with acquisitions, divestitures and partnerships, preparing and assessing valuations, undertaking due diligence on assets and portfolios, helping mitigate disputes among stakeholders and identifying operational improvements. Our team has been involved with transactions in the retail, industrial, office, institutional, residential, seniors housing and hospitality and hotel/resort sectors.

Strategic analysisWe can help you fully understand the attributes of your real estate, manage risks, assess opportunities to enhance and unlock value and outline the critical steps to help you get there. Strategic analysis for real estate assets, portfolios and markets includes options analysis, strategy development, lease vs. own analysis and cash flow modelling.
Financing servicesOur thorough understanding of real estate, financing structures and funding sources allows us to properly position the assets in the market and present the opportunity to those investors and/or lenders most likely to participate. Our services include developing financing options and strategies and sourcing and arranging equity and debt, including secured and unsecured debt for permanent, recapitalization and construction/project financing requirements.
Acquisitions, divestitures and PartnershipsOur experience in assessing real estate assets and market trends allows us to thoroughly evaluate each situation in the context of your business objectives and, in the case of dispositions, position the asset in the market to enhance proceeds.
ValuationOur team values and reviews appraisals for billions of dollars of properties each year, giving us a thorough understanding of each asset class and geography. We provide current independent and objective valuations supported by up-to-date market data.
Due diligenceOur due diligence services are focused on reviewing and understanding historical and projected operating metrics for assets and portfolios. We provide independent confirmation to assess the reasonability of underwriting, completeness of all due diligence procedures and detailed review and analysis of all components of the property or portfolio.
Dispute resolutionWe have experience dealing with disputes between stakeholders positioned throughout the capital structure and have acted in both informal and formal capacities to assist one or multiple parties as they work to resolve differences.
Operations enhancementOur experience allows us to quickly understand the existing cost structure and/or property management terms as a basis for identifying opportunities to improve. In addition, our capabilities and knowledge of leading practices allow us to assess existing processes and benchmark against industry “leading practices” and assess capital improvement alternatives in the context of “investment vs return.”
