Trans  Atlantic  Race  2015  Stad  Amsterdam  

The  TR  2015  Committee  has  invited  the  Storm  Trysail  Club  to  reprise  its  TR  2005  Race  entry  with  an  entry  of  the  Clipper  Stad  Amsterdam  in  the  2015  Trans  Atlantic  Race.    STC  member  Rex  Herbert,  the  Stad  Amsterdam  charter  negotiator,  has  all  of  the  details,  including  exciting  news  of  a  potential  Trans  Atlantic  match  race.    

We  want  to  gauge  the  interest  of  STC  members  who  wish  to  participate  in  the  charter  of  the  Stad  Amsterdam  for  the  TR  2015.    Race  highlights  include:  

• Adventure!  Sail  a  real  clipper  ship  -­‐      o Learn  new  sailing  skills  –  

hand  -­‐  reef    -­‐  steer!  o Stand  two  watches  each  day:    o Make  new  STC  friends!    

• Social:  Pre-­‐race  at  NYYC,  Newport.  Post-­‐race:  celebrate  the  200th  Anniversary  of  RYS,  Cowes,  UK    

• TR  2015  site:  transatlanticrace.org  • Race  starts  July  1,  2015  –  Charter  length:  16  days.    stadamsterdam.com  • Great  start  for  a  2015  European  vacation!    Easy  connections  to  London,  

Paris  or  beyond!  • Expected  Cost:  $7,750  to  $9,750  pp,  four  persons  per  en  suite  cabin.  

o Deposit:  $1,000  upon  confirmation  of  sufficient  interest.  o Remainder  in  two  payments,  August  2014  and  January  2015.
