8/3/2019 Training the ICT4D Trainer - Qualities of a Good Trainer
1/1
So Says the ICT4D Trainer
Quality of a Good Trainer/Good TrainingTo open the minds and think creatively during the start of an ICT4D Trainers gathering in Uganda in 2004, aswell as to have fun, we decided to use a beach ball which had a number of different colours to help us shareour thoughts on what makes a good trainer?(or in some cases: what makes a good training?)
All participants were asked to choose a colour that was present on the ball, and to relate it to a quality that isessential for good ICT trainers to possess. The holder of the ball then tossed the ball to a co-participant theycould call by name. The recipient of the ball then named the chosen colour and related its significance to acrucial ICT training quality from the experience they had previously had.
The results make for nice reading, and remind us of some key qualities that ICT4D trainers should have, based
on the collective experience of all the individuals present.1
