This course is useful for anyone who wants to be involved in the development, implementation and conducting internal audits of the safety management system.

This course is designed to help transfer your existing auditing skills from other management system to those needed for audits of occupational health & safety management systems (OH&SMS). If you have already successfully completed an IRCA certificated 5-day Lead Auditor training course, you can use the OHSAS 18001:2007 Auditor Conversion Training to broaden your skills and knowledge base to understand and audit to OHSAS criteria.

The principles of OHSAS 18001 set out a clearly defined management system so that you can examine and control an organisation’s occupational health and safety risks and vulnerabilities.

It is a requirement in all management systems to address non conformities. The results of this process and its outcomes is to be documented and the non conformance be addressed in a systematic and timely manner. The primary objective of this course is to recognise the value of conducting proper containment, correction and preventive actions, identifying effectively the root cause of the problem and documenting failure investigations.

By the end of the course participants should be able to :

� Identify and determine the non conformance

� Identify the key steps to completing the containment and correction plan

� Identify and differentiate the Immediate and root cause of the non conformity

� Response to immediate, preventive and verification actions as per the company and customer requirements

� Verify the completion of the actions taken in immediate and preventive actions plans

� Carry out a follow up to show effectiveness of the corrective and preventive action plans

Participants who pass the continuous assessment will be issued with a “Certificate of Completion”.

� Plan, conduct and report an internal audit of part of an integrated management in accordance with ISO 19011
