Course levels -
Level 1; Approximate to GCSE grade D-G, these courses are usually 0.5 day courses.
Level 2; GCSE A* - C, these are 1 day courses
Level 3; “A” Level, these courses vary from 1 to 3 day courses.
Level 4; Approximate to first year degree level— these courses are 6 days long. 5 days teacher based
and a final day for examinations— We provide extensive resources for all our courses
elearning;
eLearning is another way of studying. You are no longer tied down to fixed dates. eLearning increases
flexibility and you can complete your study at a date and time to suit you. For further details including a

Food Safety training courses;
Level 3 Award in Food Safety (Manufacturing or Catering); CIEH
Aim: To help supervise food handlers’ work activities under delegates’ control.
Who: Supervisors and owner/managers of smaller and lower risk businesses.
How: 3 days training, including syndicate activities, case studies, problem solving. Multiple choice question
exam; 60 questions, pass mark is 40, merit 52 correct answers.
Date/£; 17th, 18th & 25th March 2014; Theatre Royal, Norwich ;£435.00 + VAT.
Level 2 Award in Food Safety (Manufacturing or Catering);
HABC or CIEH
Aim: A basic understanding of food safety. The “benchmark” food safety qualification.
Who: All food handlers; from waiting staff, chefs, supervisors, owners and proprietors.
How: 1 day, with loads of activities, games, demonstrations, etc. 30 question multiple choice exam.
Date/£; Every month at Broadland Council, Norwich; £87.00, no VAT. CIEH e-learning Course available
Level 4 Award in Managing Food Safety (Manufacturing or Catering) CIEH
Aim: To help managers to manage food safety in more complex businesses and deliver Level 2 Awards.
Who: Owner/managers, supervisors, HACCP team members of larger, more complex businesses.
How: 5 days training. Each section involves syndicate case studies, past paper questions, etc. Assessment;
exam and controlled assignment on a 6th day Course handbook and detailed resource CD and DVD.
Date/£; 3rd, 4th, 10th, 11th & 17th June Exam date - 8th July Theatre Royal, Norwich; £597.00 + VAT.
Level 2 Food Safety REFRESHER (Manufacturing or Catering) OFFICIAL CIEH How: A half-day classroom session, you will be expected to contribute to a reflective discussion and 30
question multi-choice exam, much like the original course. We would need evidence of prior learning
so a copy of the Level 2 Certificate / or if taken with us we will have the batch list.
Date/£; Tuesday 4th March Broadland Council Training course;

Level 3 Food Safety REFRESHER (Manufacturing or Catering) OFFICIAL CIEH
How: A blended learning approach; you will be asked to do some work before hand. On the half day
classroom session, you will be expected to complete a 60 question multi-choice exam, much like the
original course. We would need evidence of prior learning– a copy of the Level 3 Certificate/if taken
with us we will have a batch list.
Date/£; To be arranged, Norwich; £137 .00 + VAT.
Level 4 Food Safety REFRESHER (Manufacturing or Catering) A RedCat course
How: A series of exercises, games and competitions to refresh the management functions and major hazards
that are the core elements of Level 4. There is no exam, but we will issue a RedCat Certificate of
Attendance.
Date/£; Tuesday 29th April, Theatre Royal, Norwich; £114.00 + VAT.
FOOD SAFETY REFRESHER TRAINING
We are often asked for “bespoke” courses, to meet an employer’s particular needs; for instance, we
are developing and delivering a fire safety induction programme for a large employer, with the aim of
“handing over” deliver to an in-house team. Call us to discuss your requirements.
Obviously, the aim of these courses is for
qualification holders to dust it all off!!

Food Safety training courses; HACCP and nutrition
Level 3 Award in HACCP in Food Manufacturing; CIEH
Aim: To enable delegates to contribute, in detail, to a manufacturing depth Food Safety Management
System based on the principles of HACCP
Who: Anyone involved in drawing up or implementing, at supervisory level, a food safety management
system; HACCP Team, QA/QC, small business owner/manager
How: One day training; with exercises, case studies, etc. Assessment by a workplace
based assignment (a HACCP plan) with Tutor Support.
Date/£; Wednesday 30th April Norwich; £295.00 + VAT.
Level 2 HACCP is available on request (1 day plus multi-choice exam)
Level 3 Award Effective Inspection & Auditing; HABC
Aim: To enable delegates to carry out internal or external auditing of food handling operations, focusing
on manufacturing environments but equally applicable to catering
Who: Anyone involved in food safety management monitoring; HACCP Team, QA/QC, small business
owner/manager, external auditor
How: One day training; with exercises, case studies, etc. Assessment by a 30 question multi-choice exam.

Level 2 Award in Healthier Food and Special Diets
Aim: _To provide awareness of nutrition, healthy options and special dietary requirements.
Who: Anyone running or managing a food business interested in having a competitive edge. Ideal for the
_care sector, i.e. registered with the Care Quality Commission, to fulfill your
registration requirements
How: One day training, with a 30 question multiple choice exam.

Level 4 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace
(a better alternative to IOSH “Managing Safely”)
Aim: ___To help managers to manage health and safety in more complex businesses.
Who: _Owner / managers, supervisors and safety reps of larger, more complex businesses.
How: _Five days training. Each hazard/section revolves around a syndicate case study and past paper
questions. Assessment; exam and controlled assignment on the 6th day

Level 2 Award in Manual Handling Principles & Practice
Aim: To allow learners to understand the risk associated with Manual Handling and to allow the
application of these principles to everyday manual handling tasks.
Who: Any employee.
How: One day classroom session; delegates need minimum levels of mobility and basic fitness.
Assessment is by both multi-choice exam (30 question) plus practical assessment.
Date/£; Thursday 30th January - eLearning Principles course also available can be topped up to full course
Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (CIEH/HABC)
Aim: For delegates to apply basic emergency first aid. This level of training is the minimum we would
recommend for most low / average risk businesses, but depends on an assessment
of your exact needs.
Who: Anyone designated as workplace emergency first aider, or appointed person.
How: One day training, mostly practical. Assessed by both a 15 question multi-choice exam
and practical demonstration.
Date/£; 25th February £85.00 +VAT also e-learning option for Awareness Course
This particular course is ideal for delivery at your workplace, or for a group of your own
employees (in fact, that’s what we mostly do with it….)

NEW CIEH Level 3 Award in Training— Principals and Practice (TPP);
Aim: To provide you with the knowledge and skill to be a trainer in any topic.
Who: Anyone new to training or requiring new ideas. Do you want to deliver CIEH Level 2 qualifications
_yourself? This course was designed for just that by the CIEH.
What: Training need, learning styles, planning, delivery (“the performance”) and assessment of learning.
How: 3 days training, very activity based. Assessed on the delivery, to the rest of the group, of a 30 minute
_“micro-teach” session, that would be part of a wider programme from your world.

CIEH Level 3 Training Skills & Practice to PTTLS Conversion; LAST CHANCE This course upgrades TSP to “Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector” or PTTLS for short.
If you want to start teaching in publicly funded arenas, or higher/further education institutes, this is
the “foot in the door” entry level teaching qualification you will need. PTTLS is about to be re-
designed, and outgoing qualifications such as TSP cannot be upgraded to the “new” PTLLS. This one-
day blended program is on 27th February will cost £295.00 +VAT.
Level 2 Award in Legionella Awareness (Hot and Cold Water Systems) Aim: To ensure a detailed understanding of Legionnaire’s Disease, and how risk management makes sure
the disease doesn’t arise in your work place.
Who: Anyone who is dealing with hot or cold water systems in their work place.
How: Blended Learning. 3/4hours pre course work at home followed by 3.5hours in the class room. 2

Display Screen Equipment (DSE) Assessors Course Aim: To equip delegates to take a lead role in assessing office workstations and the wider management of
associated musculoskeletal disorders (MSD)
