Delegates who gain the HABC Level 3 Award in Effective Auditing and Inspection Skills qualification will be able to apply the knowledge relating to the role of the auditor in carrying out effective audits or inspections: including the purpose of audits/inspections, benefits and limitations, the auditing/inspection cycle, check lists, data gathering, analysis and interpretation and reports.

The CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work comprises Unit 1 of the Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work. The CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work may be more suitable for lower-risk work environments, such as offices and shops and/or organisations with fewer than 100 employees. For regulatory purposes, successfully completing the CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work will enable the candidate to act as a first aider in the workplace.

To successfully gain the CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid qualification delegates must participate in all assessment activities including completion of a written assessment paper.

The CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid assessment is conducted by trainers on the day and the trainer will complete a simplified candidate assessment record and submit this to the CIEH for the results to be processed.

The CIEH Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid assessment booklets or alternative portfolios will be retained as evidence for the delegates records of achievement.

The CIEH Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work is a two-unit, three-day course that will enable successful candidates to act as a first aider in their workplace.

The CIEH Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid is a two-unit award, comprising:

• Unit 1: Paediatric Emergency First Aid.

• Unit 2: Managing Paediatric Illness and Injury.

Course Content

The training programme for Unit 1 of the Paediatric First Aid course covers the following topics:

• The role of the paediatric first aider.

• Dealing with emergencies.• Management of an

unconscious casualty.• Management of a casualty

who is not breathing normally.

• Management of a casualty who is choking.

• Management of a casualty who is in shock.

• Management of a casualty who has a bleeding wound.

It also provides the opportunity to practise the skills needed to administer first aid to an infant or child who is:

The training programme for Unit 2 of the Paediatric First Aid course covers thefollowing topics:

• Dealing with chronic medical condition and sudden illness.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) recommends that all first aiders, both Emergency First Aid at Work and First Aid at Work complete an annual half-day refresher course. The CIEH Annual First Aid Refresher Qualification course is designed to help delegates maintain their basic first aid skills and keep up-to-date with any changes to first-aid procedures.

During the CIEH Annual First Aid Refresher Qualification delegates will practice and be assessed on the skills needed to administer first aid to a casualty who is:

Course Overview

This CIEH Level 3 Award in Training - Principles and Practice qualification replaces the CIEH Level 3 Award in Training Skills and Practice. It comprises Unit 2 of the CIEH Level 3 Award in Education and Training.
