Nakia Tetter,
President
Hello Montgomery AGA,
Montgomery AGA leadership has been diligently planning great activities for the benefit of our members and com-
munity. Recent weeks have been very crucial to the success of our entire program year, and I am very grateful to
have committee directors, members and volunteers that are dedicated to achieving “Excellence” in Montgomery
AGA. I am always impressed with each activity that AGA hosts.
On Friday, February 19th, the Mentorship Committee held an outstanding Navigation 2016 Conference. The module I
witnessed left me blown away and filled with joy. Team AGA displayed great intellect, compassion, communication
skills, and a talent to teach some of our local high school students life-long skills. Montgomery AGA took great
pride in equipping the youth with “tools for success”. The young men and young women were eager to learn infor-
mation pertaining to job interviews, writing resumes, dressing for success and college prep. The Mentorship Com-
mittee deserves a huge round of applause for representing Montgomery AGA with “Excellence”!
I would like for all members to attend the Montgomery AGA March 10th luncheon, because it is being planned with
you in mind. Also, Montgomery AGA leaders are finalizing details for the 2016 Gulf Regional Professional Devel-
opment Training (PDT) to be hosted by our Montgomery AGA Chapter on April 11th, at the Marriot Legends in Prat-
tville, AL. The PDT will provide CPEs, great speakers with informative topics and wonderful opportunities to net-
work.
Be cognizant of the April 6, 2016 deadline for Montgomery AGA Scholarships. Additional information on scholar-
ships and other topics may be found on AGA’s website. http://montgomeryaga.org/index.php
President-Elect Marcus Johnson is still on the lookout for officers, directors and volunteers for the next program year,
which starts June 1. Consider serving with a great organization and with a dedicated leader. Formal instructions will
be forthcoming about the nomination process.
“You need an attitude of service. You’re not just serving yourself. You help others to grow up and you grow with
them.” David Green
Encourage co-workers and friends to join and support Montgomery AGA. My motto is, “Support Montgomery
AGA because Montgomery AGA supports you!”
