PURPOSE

The purpose of this manual is to serve as a guideline/resource for Superintendents during monthly training sessions with their Foremen.

Information contained in this manual supplements existing training content, and should be used to enhance the instruction and delivery of required learning objectives. LEARNING OBJECTIVES

TRAINING GUIDELINES

Before Training Familiarize yourself with the content Assess trainee’s understanding of content (beginner, moderate, advanced) Plan your training approach accordingly (hands on, lecture/philosophy, etc.)

During Training Utilize training references (scripts, guides, etc.) Ensure trainee is attentive and utilizes their iPad Facilitate training using the Tell, Show, Do & Ask Model

o Tell: Communicate what the expectation is o Show: Demonstrate how to complete the activity/process o Do: Allow them to perform the activity while you direct and provide feedback o Ask: Follow up immediately to ensure they understood the expectation

After Training Have trainee sign the training acknowledgement form and submit to your region’s EA Remind trainee how to access training references (scripts, guides, etc.)

Review the overall layout of the Bluebeam app and demonstrate how to access the different tools/panels by tapping on each icon/button:* Command Bar

NOTES:

Have the trainee point out the appropriate button for different functions (i.e. “How do you access the markups tab?” “How do you flip pages in a document?”)

Start at the top of the screen and work your way to the right. Review should be high level since each section will covered in more detail later.

Use the pre-loaded markup tools when reviewing/editing documents or add frequently used/custom markup tools

Field Verification Measurements Verify measurements or complete takeoffs using the count function
