Celebration Friday during Blazertime In January I read The Playbook: 52 Rules to Aim, Shoot, and Score in This Game Called Life. Have you read the book? It is the one being passed around campus. Ms. Osborne, school librarian, put an awesome activity in place. She gave all staff members a copy of the book, asked us to read it then pass it on. If you have not read the book yet, just wait. Your turn is coming! One of my favorite quotes is by Kwame Alexander, the book’s author. He says, ”Find your grit and put in the work to elevate your game. Champions train. Chumps complain.”

This time of the school year can be difficult. We must all push through to ensure a strong and successful finish. You may have noticed that every morning I greet students with “Good morn-ing!” or “Have a great day!” Did you know I am not, let me re-peat, I am not a morning person. Each morning I make a deci-sion to have a good day and I follow through by trying to make sure those around me get off to a good start as well. If I chose to meet you with a frown or just ignore you when you walked by, what good would it do?

Our actions impact others. I challenge all of us to reflect on our behaviors, words, etc. Are we making Tegeler a great place to be or are we bringing ourselves and others down? What about at home, at work and other places?

I challenge you to help make Tegeler the best school it can be for all of us. A place where we can all “thrive, not just survive...” Will you join me?
