White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico

• For those utilizing JPAS:

– TRAC-WSMR Facility SMO code is W4AE045 and

– TRAC SCI SMO code is: W4AEAA3

– The POC should be the name and telephone number of person to be visited, not the security personnel. For SCI visits the POC should be the TRAC SSO

• For those who do not have JPAS:

– Visitors must submit their clearances on official company/agency letterhead with their CAGE code, contract number (if required), and certification of the level of the facility security clearance annotated on the visit authorization letter.

– Additionally, government personnel and contractors must have their clearances signed by their respective security officer (facility security officer for contractors) and a TRAC sponsor verifying the need-to-know.

– See detailed visit request procedures for additional information.

• Other Security Notes:

– Personal cell phones must be turned off while inside the buildings.

– Computers are not authorized without prior coordination.

Security Visitor Request Procedures

WSMR Geographical Location:

• White Sands Missile Range: is located approximately 50 miles north of El Paso, TX, and 25 miles east of Las Cruces, NM.

• Caution should be used if lodging in Las Cruces, NM, as Highway 70 from Las Cruces to WSMR is subject to roadblocks while waiting for a missile firing from the range. A roadblock can delay you for up to one hour.

• Roadblock Information can be obtained by dialing (575) 678-2222.

WSMR Geographical Location & Lodging Information

• Follow the appropriate direction to the WSMR Entrance (Las Cruces/ El Paso Gate).

• At the Gate, if you do have a CAC, simply present the card to the guard who will stop you at the gate. If you do NOT have a CAC, you will need to obtain a Visitor’s Pass inside the Las Cruces gate Reception Center or from the DoD guard at the El Paso gate.

– You will need to present your valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance.

– After you receive your Visitor’s Pass, you will proceed to the Inspection Area to have your vehicle inspected.

• From Las Cruces Gate: Proceed south on Headquarters (main street) to Martin Luther King Ave. (major intersection). You will pass Building 100 (Headquarters) on your right. It has large trees in front of it, as well as the main flag pole. Martin Luther King Ave., is approximately .5 miles from the Gate. Turn right (west) on Martin Luther King Ave. and continue for approximately .3 miles.

• From El Paso Gate: Proceed north on Headquarters to Martin Luther King Ave. (first major intersection). Turn left (west) on Martin Luther King Ave. and continue for approximately .3 miles.

• Bldg 1400 is approximately .3 miles on the right. There will be a sign labeled “Bldg 1400 –TRADOC Analysis Center”.

• You can park your vehicle in the parking lot, (south side) on Martin Luther King Ave.

• Enter through the main entrance of the building (center). Once you are in the building, security will be located on your right.

WSMR Gate Instructions

• Leaving rental area turn right and follow Convair until you come to a stop sign. Turn right On Airway and head North.

• Take the first right and Merge on to Airport Road

• Airport Road becomes Spur TX-601

• 2.0 mi Continue on Spur TX-601

• Take exit toward US-54 E

• 6.6 mi Take the Off ramp for MLK and Turn left at FM-3255 N/Martin Luther King Jr Blvd intersection.

• Continue on as you enter New Mexico

• 5.5 mi Continue on NM-213

• 10.7 mi Slight right to stay on NM-213

• 12.3 mi Turn left

• 3.9 mi continue on to WSMR

• US White Sands Missile Range

Directions from El Paso International Airport to White Sands Missile Range,NM

• Approx: 25 miles

• Take the Alamogordo Exit off of I-25 N and drive East approximately 25 Miles until you see the White Sands Missile Range Headquarters sign,

• Exit to White Sands Missile Range

• Continue to the right past the intersection to the Post gate 3.9 mi.

• You will need to stop at the Reception Center before proceeding on Post.

• About 53.0 mi – 58 mins

• Leave El Paso Int'l Airport

• Head north on Convair Rd following signs for Airport exit.

• 0.4 mi Slight left at Airway Blvd

• 1.2 mi Turn right at Gateway Blvd W

• 0.1 mi Take the ramp on the left onto I-10 W continue

– Entering New Mexico

• 49.4 mi merge to the right and Exit to I 25 North. Next 3 exits for Las Cruces.

Driving directions From El Paso International Airport to Las Cruces, NM

• In Google Maps type for GPS directions:

– BLD 21000, Fort Bliss, TX 79918

• Take Martin Luther King Jr Ave to Headquarters Ave. (turns into War Rd after the El Paso guard gate).

• At the traffic circle, continue on War Rd. (turns into Martin Luther King Jr Blvd).

• Use the right lane to take the ramp onto Gateway S Blvd. Keep right to stay on Gateway S Blvd.

• Turn left onto Woodrow Bean Transmountainthen use the left lane to take the ramp onto TX-375 Loop.

• Take the exit after big curve, there is not an exit sign.

• Turn right onto Sergeant Major Blvd and then take 2nd left.

• Turn right at the 1st cross street onto Minue Drthen take the first left. Park Bldg 21000 should be one the North left.

TRAC-WSMR (FWD) Location at Fort Bliss

Visitors’ Vehicle Passes for Ft Bliss:

• Both the Cassidy Gate and Robert E. Lee Gate have a Pass office which is opened 24 hours.

• You will need to provide your driver’s license; proof of insurance and registration or rental car contract; travel orders.

• The gate does get backed up in the mornings sometimes, so allow time to get the visitor vehicle pass or obtain the vehicle pass the day before your meeting.

• (Visitors with military ID may enter the Cassidy Gate by just showing their ID, rental contract, and travel order.)
