Young apprentices complete program and leave Fiotec The closing ceremony of the first cycle of the Young Apprentice Program of Fiotec took place last Friday (10/7), with a schedule of four hours. In an emotional afternoon, the ten young people who are leaving the institution demonstrated how the project was a success and how much they learned during the months they worked on the various areas of Fiotec. In the first part of the meeting, there was an activity in which the young people who are leaving and the new twelve young people who have been selected for the second program cycle introduced themselves and talked about what has been learned and the expectations of those who begin to work in August. In addition, every beginner received a letter written by one of those who are leaving the program. Besides the participation of young people, the program would not have been a success without the mentors of each area, which spared no efforts to embrace the project. The second part of the meeting was open to them. Adilson Gomes dos Santos, general manager of Fiotec, was keen to talk about the importance of the program for the institution. "It's an interesting project, which was imposed on organizations. But here in Fiotec, we are concerned with your training and not labor, as it happens in some companies. Not only are you learning, we also learn from you, "he said at the time. Adilson also welcomed the new employees. "Put your heart on the table. Dream a lot and run after your dreams, "he said. At the time, the young people were also granted their certificates of completion and could talk about on learning and how the program has influenced the lives of each and a feeling was common to all: overcoming expectations. "I didn't expect it to be so fast and that I would cling so much to the program. It was a unique opportunity! In Fiotec, I learned to learn and to let me teach. This developed my skills as a person and as a professional. I'll remember this experience forever," said Ananda Cantarino, Young Apprentice. Duty accomplished Aline Caputi, collaborator of the Human Resources area and who led this group of young apprentices who are leaving, was very pleased with the work done and stressed that a lot of learning was shared. As she closely supervised all of them, Aline highlighted how their development was highly visible. "It was very rewarding to see the development of these young people, realize how much the program was important for their continuous improvement. It was not easy for them to break the paradigm of students and have a professional attitude, but with a lot of dialogue and encouragement, each of them will leave this institution with a unique experience. In Fiotec, the program began in 2013 and takes place in partnership with the Center for Company-School Integration (CIEE).The methodology used in the program is job rotation, in which young apprentices go through all sectors of the institution. The idea is that, by the end of the learning cycle, which lasts up to 17 months depending on the workload, the potential professionals acquire fundamental technical and behavioral skills as a differential to enter the labor market.IOC has more than 25 reference laboratories for the Ministry of HealthThe Oswaldo Cruz Institute (IOC / Fiocruz) is a unit of Fiocruz that produces know-how, products and services in the biomedical area, to meet the health needs of the population. Through its Reference Laboratories, it operates in highly complex diagnostics, development of studies, training at local, state and federal levels and for international organizations, as well as technical advice to national management by means of control programs. By means of a project from its own unit, Fiotec supports the improvement of the management of some of the institute's laboratories. The IOC is recognized by the Ministry of Health as a reference unit for dealing with the most injuries and diseases of which Fiocruz is in charge before the Health Surveillance Secretary. By 2013, it had 29 reference centers: 24 national centers and 5 regional centers. Some of them are reference centers for cholera, dengue, leprosy, yellow fever, among others.

Most of these services are aimed at national institutions, of which about 90% belong to the public sector. The challenge faced by any management ahead of the component of these laboratories is to give sustainability and extend a traditional level of excellence of activities, thus meeting different demands with the required solvability. Therefore, the project was created to contribute to the improvement of this management, supporting consulting / advisory techniques to the Health Ministry, State and Municipal Health Departments; conducting professional training in the health surveillance area; and ensuring resources for the purchase of inputs for the laboratory diagnosis within the agreed period, the samples of human cases, animals and environmental interests of public health.
