This is the second assessment that ASEAN NCAP conducted on the Toyota Hilux. The first was performed in 2015 in which it received 5-Star AOP. Based on the evidence provided by Toyota, ASEAN NCAP found there is no change in the platform structure of the Hilux model tested in 2015 with the current model. Thus, ASEAN NCAP has agreed to extend the Hilux’s ODB score for adult occupant to the current assessment. The new Toyota Hilux is fitted with three airbags as standard with standard seven airbags offered in the Brunei and Vietnam markets. ABS is a standard fitment across all variants but ESC is fitted as standard for the market in Brunei, Singapore and Vietnam. The model has SBR as standard for both its frontal occupants whilst other safety assist technologies as listed in the above table are available either as standard or optional in the mentioned markets. In this assessment the new Toyota Hilux had successfully achieved 83.42 points which makes it eligible for 5-Star ASEAN NCAP.
