This is the second assessment conducted by ASEAN NCAP on the model Toyota Corolla Altis. The first assessment was performed in 2014. The new Toyota Corolla Altis performed very well in the test under the three assessed domains. The car obtained 46.82 points in the AOP category, 22.35 points for the COP and 19.29 points for the SATs category. The sedan is equipped with seven airbags, Seatbelt Reminders for frontal occupants and ESC as standard across all its variants sold in the South East Asia market. Nevertheless, the Myanmar market also has SBR for the rear occupant seats as standard. The model offers all the SATs that were being assessed by ASEAN NCAP either as standard or optional fitment. Only the AEB for Pedestrian or VRU is not offered in the model. Based on the assessment total score of 88.46 points, the new Toyota Corolla Altis is eligible for 5-Star ASEAN NCAP rating.

BLIND SPOT TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT

ASEAN NCAP has introduced Blind Spot Technology (BST) in its new 2017-2020 protocol. In the protocol, ASEAN NCAP assessed the functionality of each BST introduced in the car. The BST is available in the new Toyota Corolla Altis as optional fitment in the Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand markets. In this assessment, ASEAN NCAP confirms that the technology has functioned according to ASEAN NCAP requirements on both the left and right side area of the vehicle.
