Background MESA SADC Thematic Action, “Agriculture and Environment
Resource Management” is one of the seven (7) Thematic Actions ofthe MESA programme coordinated by the African Unionthe MESA programme coordinated by the African Union.

Concluding Remarks
Universities are critical to ensure that legacy of MESA lives g yon beyond the lifespan of MESA Programme.
Within the SADC Region Universities have demonstrated a high level of interest to be involved in with MESA anda high level of interest to be involved in with MESA, and their involvement present a great potential to support GMES and Africa implementation at national level.

Concluding Remarks
21 universities are now actively involved in training activities at member states levelactivities at member states level.
Universities also have great potential to became a source of human development capital of EO and other related

We need to explore this potential. Our perspective is that these universities should eventually became the premier source of Human development capital for EO and related professions p o ess o s
