    According tothe World Tourism Organization (WTO),Tourismcomprisestheactivitiesofpersonstraveling toand staying in placesoutsidetheirusual environment for

    notmorethanoneconsecutiveyearforleisure, business,and otherpurposes.

    This definitionhelpsto distinguishtourismfrommigration,butitmakestheassumptionthat bothtravel and stayare

    necessaryfortourism,thus precluding daytours.

    It would alsoappeartoexclude businesstravel, whichisconnected withearnings.
