ROAD CLOSURES

Entering London from the north east, the Tour passes through the Queen Elizabeth

Olympic Park in Stratford before heading into central London.

The race route is along the Thames, with the final stretch through St James's Park before a

finish on The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.

Key routes will remain open in London including the A11, A12, A13, A406 and Rotherhithe

and Blackwall Tunnels.

The Congestion Charge will remain in force.

BARCLAYS CYCLE HIRE

Barclays Cycle Hire docking stations in and around the route area may be suspended.

Docking stations in Tower Hamlets, City and Westminster will be affected and include:

Tower Hamlets: Hermitage Court, Vaughan Way, Tower Gardens, Westferry DLR and

East India DLR

City of London: Lower Thames Street, Monument Street, Queen Street and Queen Street

Westminster: Somerset House, Embankment (Savoy), Embankment - Horse Guards

Avenue and Storey's Gate

As roads will be more congested in the area surrounding the event, it may make it difficult

for cycle hire redistribution vehicles to collect and replace bicycles.

NATIONAL RAIL & LONDON UNDERGROUND

NATIONAL RAIL

All Liverpool Street to Cambridge services will be 8 coaches from 09:00 to 15:00.

Liverpool Street to Chingford trains will run every 15 minutes with services being 8

coaches long from 12:00

Additional coaches on the Liverpool Street to Braintree line

First Capital Connect will run lengthened services (12 carriages) between London

and Cambridge.

LONDON UNDERGROUND

Charing Cross station – Likely to be busy between 15:45 and 18:00. A one-way

system in/out of the station and a managed queuing arrangement may be

necessary. Entrances and exits to this station in and around Trafalgar Square will

close from 12:00 to 18:00 for safety reasons with access in and out of the station

via the main ticket hall during these times.

Embankment station – Due to station improvements the main entrance will be

closed and Circle and District lines with be the only lines stopping. Expected to be

extremely busy after 15:45

Epping station – Expected to be busy between 14:30 and 17:00 with a temporary

one way system in place in the ticket hall

Green Park station – Likely to be busy between 15:45 and 18:00. During those

times entry to the station will be via the south side of Piccadilly and from the Green

Park entrance only. The north side of Piccadilly will be exit only

Stratford station – Expected to be busy between 15:30 and 18:00 with a managed

queuing system going in place if necessary

St. James’s Park, Temple and Tower Hill stations – will be busy between 15:45

and 18:00 and a managed queuing arrangement may be in operation

Westminster station– will exit and interchange only between 12:00 and 18:00
