"Touching lives with the holiness and hope of Jesus" (580) 338-3553 www.guymonnazarene.org www.guymonfourtwelve.com We search for many things. We look for food. We go shopping for clothes. We hunt & fish for wild game. We seek friends. Singles date. Some look for rest. There are adventure seekers. Vast energy is spent seeking healing. We are searchers. There is one thing for which we are all seeking: peace in our heart. A knowledge of God. A knowledge that goes beyond our understanding to know the love of Christ. Ephesians 3:18-19 promises: “the love of Christ...to know this love that surpasses knowledge”. Friends, Jesus wants us to know him and His amazing love, but to know Him will take searching. That’s why we meet together in prayer and worship - to search for Christ and to know Him. He will be found by those who search. He will be found. November worship theme is “Desperate for His Presence”. Activities like small group discipleship and ministry abound and are life changing, don’t miss them. We will give our Thanksgiving in offerings and worship and begin the Advent season towards the Christmas celebration. As you enjoy November please remember that: “the main is to keep the main thing the main thing”. This is the main thing: Seeking the very presence of Jesus. Are you seeking Him most? Don’t miss Him. See you Sunday? Pastor Wayne I love this time of year for many reasons. Growing up in Idaho this time of the year we would start to build fires and prepare for the snow that would fall in a few weeks. That is my prayer for Guymon soon! Let it snow this year! It has been another great month with the teenagers. In September I was asked to be in charge of and plan See You At The Pole and Saw You At The Pole Rally that our church hosted. We had 75 people including adults at SYATP and 170 people at the SYATP Rally! It was a great day! Next year we hope to have the students be in charge of leading and planning it. I am so proud of these teens as they have been serving once a month at the Oaks of Mamre. The director of the Oaks of Mamre has told me that both times we have volunteered there that we have done a years worth of work for them. The students understand what it means to serve others and to be a missional community. It encourages me to see how these students are growing. I have been on staff here since June 1st and the youth group has almost doubled in size. We are averaging 50 students on Wednesday nights. Our numbers in Sunday School have increased as well as our numbers in Sunday morning worship and small groups on Sunday nights. The youth group is continuing to grow. Shift 6->7 is continuing to grow as well. Grace and Peace, Pastor Matt Kid’s with A Purpose Wow how we have felt your love this past month. Many of you have expressed your love to us with meals, bread, prayers, gifts and so many other kind ways. The quiz team has shown their love each week by serving our family in a variety of ways. They cleaned our car, they planted mums at our house, they prepared a meal. Wow we have been so blessed. We want to thank each and every person who has showed their appreciation to our families this past month and over this past year. We are blessed to be a part of this church by serving as your children’s pastor. The kids have been hard at work preparing for the Christmas musical for this year. The kids are practicing on Sunday’s at 9:30 and Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. There are also some special rehearsal dates that you need to be aware of. These times and dates are: November 30th 6-8 pm, December 3rd 10 am-12 pm, December 7th 6-8 pm and December 10th 10 am -12 pm. We are excited to bring this musical to morning worship on December 11 th as an act of worship and a way to minister to your hearts this Christmas this season. I would ask you to begin to pray about how God may use this ministry to minister to the hearts of your neighbors who may be unchurched. Perhaps it is meant to minister to someone you work with. What a great way to share the Gospel Begin now to invite people to this service as well as other services during the month of December. I would ask that you begin to pray now for families in your neighborhood or at your work place that you can invite to either the Thanksgiving Dinner, Children’s Musical, Living Nativity, Christmas Eve Service, or any service in December. Or perhaps you can invite them to each of these. Be bold in your faith and invite someone to hear the word of the Lord. Let us reach out into our community and show them the love Christ has showed to each of us. Pastor Steve It's been a fun and exciting month here and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I'm grateful for the many volunteers who participate in the creative arts through singing, playing instruments, running sound and video. We have some fun things planned, including an audio training workshop, a community Thanksgiving service, and the semi-annual Drive-Thru Nativity. None of this is possible without YOU! If you're just waiting for a chance to be involved, here it is. I'd love to meet you, learn about your gifts and abilities and passions and see how we can serve the Lord together in ministry. To join the choir, press 1. To play in the orchestra, press 2. To attend the audio workshop, press 3. To volunteer for the Drive-Thru Nativity, press 4. OK, I'm kidding. But seriously, call me.
