TOT Training Report
Country: Tanzania City: Dar-es-salaam/ Date of training: 10-14 November 2008 / Venue: RC Training Center Dar es salaam
1. Description of activities:The first TOT held after the master training certification, took place from 10-14 November 2008 in Dar es salaam. This consisted of two parts: Theory and practical on training and facilitation skills and individual lessons. The following topics were part of the training:
- Preparation of a training program- Adult learning- Training methods & approaches- Training aids- Facilitation skills- Evaluation- Follow-up
2. Participants:A total of 13 participants (10 male and 3 female) attended the program. It was a mix of participants from both the private and public sectors.See the name list below:

3. Program feedback:
The knowledge of the participants was evaluated with a pre and post evaluation as well as with individual lessons. All 13 participants received certificates of competence.

The improvement of the knowledge of the participants from the first day to the last day was remarkable.
4. Hand outs:All participants received the following handouts:
- Hard copy of hand outs for all sessions- CD with all reports, session handouts as well as technical
archive of responsible use information, pictures, posters and specifications (CropLife & FAO)
5. Course evaluation by participants:During and at the end of the program all participants were asked to evaluate the facilitation course. In general the participants were satisfied with the program. They referred to it as a professional high-level training program. They also thought that it was useful and interesting (See picture of spot check below)
Three questions were asked in the final course evaluation to participants:

6. General:Cosmas Matanda from CropLife opened the training session. Mr. Harish Dhutia, General Manager of Bytrade Tanzania Ltd, officially closed the training session
7. Venue, food and logistics:The venue was good. The food was tasty and well prepared. It was a well-planned and well-organized training course. The effort and dedication of the CropLife team must be praised. Thank you CropLife Tanzania.
8. Master trainer comments:It was a fantastic experience. We had fun but also did some serious learning and training. The participants will continue to get e-mail support for a period of 12 months. I am convinced that the 13 trainers will make a difference in the future in terms of responsible use of pesticides in Tanzania.
