Deuteronomy 173. And hath gone and served other gods, and

worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

4. And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel:

5. Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die.

Deuteronomy 17And it be told thee, and thou hast heard of it, and enquired diligently, and, behold, it be true, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in Israel: Then shalt thou bring forth that man or that woman, which have committed that wicked thing, unto thy gates, even that man or that woman, and shalt stone them with stones, till they die. At the mouth of two witnesses, or three witnesses, shall he that is worthy of death be put to death; but at the mouth of one witness he shall not be put to death. The hands of the witnesses shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hands of all the people. So thou shalt put the evil away from among you.

Deuteronomy 17: 4-7

Leviticus 12. Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, If

any man of you bring an offering unto the LORD, ye shall bring your offering of the cattle, even of the herd, and of the flock.

3. If his offering be a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish: he shall offer it of his own voluntary will at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation before the LORD.

In this case, the man bringing the offering is the messenger.

Information about Angels1 The Hebrew word Malak is used as a functional word

describing what the being, whether it be man or heavenly being.

2 The beings from heaven were also called “Holy Ones” in Daniel 4:17, as they were carrying out the judgment on King Nebuchadnezzar. That Hebrew word is Quaddish.

3 Translators use the word messenger when referring to people and the word angel when referring to a divine being.

4 Angels/Messengers, both human and divine, can only do what the Father in Heaven authorizes them to do.

Nehemiah 1This chapter is about Nehemiah’s prayer to the LORD to restore the Jews to the promised land, and to allow them to rebuild Jerusalem, rebuild the wall and restore the Temple.• The “Holy Ones” cannot intervene unless

there is fervent prayer such as what Nehemiah has done in this chapter.• Confession of the sins of the fathers,

which breaks curses.

Psalm 927 When the wicked spring as the grass, and when

all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever:

9 For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered.

10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

11 Mine eye also shall see my desire on mine enemies, and mine ears shall hear my desire of the wicked that rise up against me.

Deuteronomy 71 When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land

whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;

2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:

3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.

Judges 94 And they gave him threescore and ten pieces

of silver out of the house of Baalberith, wherewith Abimelech hired vain and light persons, which followed him.

• The Story of Abimelech, technically the first king of Israel. • Not all the tribes recognized his leadership.

• The Sons of Anak were the Nephilim rulers in the land of Canaan before the Israelites invaded. They were illegitimate kings, just as Abimelech was.

Page 18: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

Q: We know from I Samuel that there were Nephilim among the Philistines. Why were they not on the Torah’s (Deuteronomy 7) death list?

A: Because Goliath and his Nephilim relatives were not part of the ruling class. The Philistines had five lords that ruled over them.

The Golem

Page 20: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

Psalm 139:16Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

•“Yet being unperfect” = Golem• “In thy book” = Sefer•“all my members . . . Were fashioned” = Yitzirah• Sefer Yitzirah = Book of Creation

Book Used to Create a Golem

Page 22: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

What is a Golem?A Golem is a creature made out of mud.A Golem can only be made by a righteous man (usually a rabbi).

However, in the TV show The X-Files, Season 4, Episode 12 titled “Kaddish,” a woman made a Golem based upon her deceased betrothed husband. Even the fingerprints matched. She wanted to keep the Golem alive, but she was forbidden to by her father. She was required to obey her father.

In antiquity, Golems were made by rabbis to protect their “flock.”

Page 23: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

The “Life” of a Golem

To activate the Golem, the Hebrew word for “Truth” (אמת emeth) must be placed on the forehead or the right hand. (Sound Familiar)To deactivate the Golem, you must remove the Aleph (א) from the forehead or hand. The Hebrew word will then become the English word “dead” (מת meth).

Page 24: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

Uses for a GolemRabbi Judah ben Leow used a Golem to fight the persecution of the Jews in Prague, which was part of the Austrian empire at the time.

When the Golem started making mincemeat of the Austrian police and soldiers, the King of Austria paid a visit to the rabbi. The rabbi deactivated the Golem when the king agreed to stop the persecution of the Jews. However, the rabbi kept the form of the Golem handy in case the king changed his mind.

Page 25: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

Uses for a Golem – Part IIHistory records the use of Golems whenever persecution against the Jews happens.

It is interesting that Jews have been able to sustain communities all over the world, but maintain their culture. Maybe they had some help?

During World War II, when the Nazis were completing the “final solution,” reports told of Golems suddenly appearing to take on the Waffen-SS troops, charged with carrying out the “Final Solution.”

Page 26: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

Uses for a Golem – Part IIIIn Davidic times, the Philistines used Nephilim super soldiers to fight Israel. When David became king, Israel never lost a battle.

With what we learned in Psalm 139:16, could it be possible that he used Golems as his own super soldiers?

In modern times, the Israeli codeword for their nuclear project is Project Golem. A rather curious name for a nuclear program.

Could they be making more than bombs at this facility?

Page 27: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

Modern Instances of the GolemThe Golem – A 1920 Silent Film about the Golem of Prague (Now in the Czech Republic)

• Prague is now the Capital of the Czech Republic. Before that, it was the capital of Czechoslovakia, a member of the Warsaw Pact of Nations and was Communist after World War II.

• Prague is the center of what is called Sudetenland, the German-speaking part of Bohemia. It was ceded to Nazi Germany by the French and British as part of the Munich Pact in 1937.

• Czechoslovakia was formed after World War I when the Central Powers lost the war and the Austrian Empire was stripped of much of its territory.

Page 28: Tom Mack Director The WhiteStone Foundation for Research Spiritual Beings of the Bible

Modern Instances of the GolemCurse of the Golem – A 1966 TV Movie written & directed like a British “Hammer Horror Flick.”

The Most Famous Hammer Horror Flick was the 1958 movie Horror of Dracula starring Peter Cushing and a then unknown actor named Christopher Lee. Even though the critics had little hope for it, the movie was a box office smash.

Horror Express – A 1973 British film starring Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Telly Savalas, and featuring a creature that has been frozen for thousands of years. The slip of paper put in its mouth might indicate it was a Golem.

24. Thou shalt not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor do after their works: but thou shalt utterly overthrow them, and quite break down their images.

32. Thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor with their gods.

33. They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.

Ecclesiastes 7 11 ¶ Wisdom is good with an

inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun.

12 For wisdom is a defense, and money is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.
