Food for thought. How many people worked for 40 years and did what theythought was right to save money for their retirement? What’s worse is howmany people will work their whole lives and never be a millionaire. Then golook at our fearless leaders in Washington, D.C. The ones who have beenin office over 20 years; most of them were poor when they got there andnow they aren’t worth a million dollars. They are multi-millionaires. Howcould anyone get that rich working for the government? Easy - they takecare of themselves first and we come in second place. Pensions and theBEST health care for life. Stock tips that can’t lose. We need term limits andnew blood in D.C. that think of us and not them. Why don’t some of themover 65 years old think about retirement? Easy - they are still greedy andwant more. Vote ‘em OUT! The lies and promises are starting to get deep. They smell like they are coming from the barnyard!

THE ISELDRT TIMESDirt sales for the Spencer team continue to be fantastic - we have been sellingland auctions in the Western 1/2 of Iowa and throughout Southern Iowa. Beloware some recent land sales. Recently we have also made several private treatysales and those sales continue to be very strong. When we receive a farminquiry we usually explain the merits of the auction method and that competitivebidding is hard to beat. Every once in a while the clients feel more at ease withthe listing method. Right now both methods work very well, but the auctionmethod brings quicker results and gives all neighbors and investors an equalshot there by assuring the seller the full extent of the market, and that nothingwas left on the table. When you give us a call, you will find that we will keep all correspondence instrict confidence. We will do a detailed and realistic value assessment on yourfarm and we will explain what our methods are, and how our methods differfrom other land sales companies and why we can deliver unparalelled results. We have built our business on confidentiality and trust.

Boy the crop is disappearing fast. Surely this will be the earliest harvest on record. NowI’m hoping for the longest fall, shortest winter and earliest spring ever too. Wow, itseems crazy we only have 2 high school football games left. Boy time flies by. One notefrom Friday’s feeder auction, we had 1600 cattle and very few weighing under 450#.With today’s genetics, these light cattle will be pretty hard to find. Finally, we send outspecial thoughts and prayers to the Jon & Karen Hoffman family and their son Jasonwho was in a car accident. Jason get well soon!!!!!!!!

FED CATTLE/WEIGH COWS TUES.,OCT. 2ND: USDA called the fat cattle trade$2-3 lower. The weigh cows were fully steady. These darn fat cattle we just can’t seemto get these fats worked higher.
