This handbook is referred RNC-CNES-Q-ST-60-100(General Requirements for the use of Commercial EEE Parts in Space Applications) of CNES and PEM-INST-001(Instructions for Plastic Encapsulated Microcircuit (PEM) Selection, Screening, and Qualification) of GSFC/NASA.

(1) Though the use of the space transferable parts technology is indispensable, attention is necessary for the use of space transferable parts.

(a) Narrow Temperature Range (b) Lack of Radiation Tolerance and High Vacuum performance (c) Frequently Design Change and Evaluation Necessary. (d) Parts User have to evaluate Space Transferable Parts. (2) Evaluation of the lot to apply is indispensable and additional cost needed.

(especially, Reliability and Radiation Tolerance) (2) Necessity of JAXA EEE Parts Handbook for Space Transferable Parts (criteria) for timely evaluation. (3) Necessity of Comparison between Ground Test Data and Space Flight Data. (Mainly Radiation Tolerance Data for Publication of above handbook) (4) Necessity to carry out the revision of the handbook for Progress of Parts Technology and for Comparison between ground evaluation test and space flight experience continuously. (5) Necessity of Mutual Agreement (Cooperation) of Parts User (System/ Eequipment Manufacturers) and Parts Manufacturers.

Selection criteria (a)Space Transferable Parts shall be select in the condition of

technical and economical difficulty for selection from standard parts and non-standard parts(NSPAR).

(b) In the case of the choice of candidate parts, parts user manufacturers confirm information about the validity of the latest data of the parts manufacturers, qualification applicability, defect notice, warning information and suitability of parts application.

(a)Necessity of prior approval, the document (memo etc.) is needed when using parts for the particular application such as satellite . (b)Parts user (system/equipment manufacturers) needs the detailed data for the selection of design, mounting, and quality/reliability performance etc.

(ii) The candidate parts also identified to "Space application non-standard part" added to the parts list (approval parts list) at the critical design review (CDR) . Furthermore, these candidate parts are checked by JAXA for NSPAR as "space application non-standard parts”. NSPAR: Non-Standard Parts Approval Request (b) Evaluation of candidate parts Parts user (system / equipment manufacturers ) plans an evaluation about candidate parts and carries it out, when evidences(information from the parts manufacturers for the initial evaluation) do not receive from the parts manufacturers .

1.The space application committee of Space Transferable Parts issued JERG-2- 023 ( Long Life Satellite Application of JAXA EEE Parts Handbook for Space Transferable Parts ) was issued on May 21,2013. But it is necessary to note that it is not a guideline.

2. This handbook was issued that supplement collects standard parts for space and flight proven parts (NSPAR parts), and it is expected that new subjects and improve points become clear by really applying this handbook. 3. In the deliberation of the Handbook Study Committee, Collaborative Relationship (Relationship of Mutual Trust) between User (System /Equipment) Manufacturers and Parts Manufacturers are build, the Circle of Space Committee has extended.

4. JAXA has been studied Scientific Satellite Application of JAXA EEE Parts Handbook for Space Transferable Parts in 2013FY.

5. In addition, Investigation Committee of JAXA-PPL Preparation Activity starts in 2013FY.
