Before use this transceiver may need get local government authorization.
DO NOT operate the transceiver without a proper antenna attached, as this may damage the transceiver
and may also exceed exposure limits
Refer service to qualified technicians only.
Turn off the transceiver while taking on fuel or while parked in a gasoline service station.
Do not expose the transceiver to long periods of direct sunlight, nor place it close to heating appliances.
If it appears that the transceiver diffuses peculiar smell or smoke, please shut off its power immediately,
then contact with the nearest dealer.
Don’t keep the transceiver transmitting too long .It may be too hot to hurt body or damage the transceiver
itself.
Please turn off the transceiver before entering the inflammable and explosive environment.

Welcome to use our transceiver. Please check if any damage to the packing box before use. Carefully
unpacks the transceiver. We recommend that you identify the items listed in the following table. If any items
are missing or have been damaged during shipment, please inform the seller.

Battery Pack
CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK
The battery pack is not charged at the factory; charge it before use.
Initially charging the battery pack after purchase or extended storage will not bring the battery pack to its
normal operating capacity. After repeating the charge/discharge cycle two or three times, the capacity will
increase to best status. You should charge or change the battery pack if the battery’s power is weak.
CAUTION:
Use the original battery pack only. It is likely to explode or hurt your body if you use other battery.
Don’t short-circuit the terminals or put it in fire. Don’t attempt to open the unit.
The ambient temperature should be between 0* to 40* while charging is in progress. Charging beyond this range
may not fully charge the battery.
Always switch OFF the transceiver equipped with a battery pack before charging. Using the transceiver while charging,
it will interfere with correct charging.
Don’t cut off the power or take off the battery during the charging process or else it will interfere with correct charging.
The battery pack life is over when its operating time decreases even though it is fully and correctly charged. Replace
the battery pack.
Don’t recharge the battery pack if it is already fully charged or it will short the life of the battery.
Don’t charge the battery pack or transceiver while it is wet. Please wipe up it first to avoid danger.

Charging
Please charge the battery pack as follow:
Put the DC plug of the transformer into the DC socket of the charger unit.
Connected the supplied transformer to the AC jack
Slide the battery or the transceiver with a battery pack into the charger.
Make sure the battery pack contacts are in contact with the charging terminals, and the charger LED is
on, it begins to charge.
After charging the supplied battery pack for 3 hours, remove it or the transceiver equipped with it from the
charger. The charger light turns to green automatically after charging is completed.
Charging OperationIf the transceiver indicator displays , it means the battery pack is out of power , please charge it.
Please always use the original charger. The charger’s indicator shows the charging status below.

Don’t carry the transceiver by the antenna or microphone directly.
Use a soft, clean, dry cloth to clean the transceiver.
Please cover the speaker/microphone jacks with the supplied cover when the transceiver is not in used.
The keypad, knobs and case will become dirty after long use; you can use the soft detergent and cloth to
clean it.
CAUTION:
It is abnormal in case of the charger glisteningly before sliding the battery pack into the charger.
Don’t replace the battery pack until the indicator light is stable.
Make sure contact well, LED indicates red when it is charging, if LED always blinking the battery pack is damaged or
over the environment temperature.

To remove the battery pack, turn off power and
pull back on the release latch and slide the pack
away from the transceiver.

INSTALLING THE WRIST STRAP
You can install a wrist strap to the back of the transceiver.
BASIC MODE
1) Frequency Mode (VFO)
Under this mode, you can use the [ ] / [ ] key to change the frequency or input the frequency by
keypad directly.
2) Memory Channel Mode (MR)
Press [ ] key to select, you can use the [ ] / [ ] key or input the keypad numbers as the channel.
You have to input a memory channel at least otherwise you can not enter this mode.
3) Menu Mode ( MENU)
Press the key [ ] , you will see “ ” blinking then press [ ] key to select menus.Under this mode,
you can use the [ ] / [ ] key to change the menu items.

Used to provide the power to transceiver.

If you need to use speaker, microphone
or programming cable, connect them with
this socket.
Press PTT then speak into the microphone to call and lights red. Release PTT to receive signal and lights green.

Basic Operation
Turn on/off power
1). Rotate Power/Volume knob by clockwise until beep sound is heard to turn on.
2). Turn Power/Volume knob in counterclockwise rotation until beep sound is heard to turn off.
Adjust volume level
After turning on the power, turn Power/Volume knob to increase the volume in clockwise rotation and decrease
the volume in counterclockwise rotation.
Setting squelch level
The use of the squelch function is not to hear the background noise until received a signal. If you set the
squelch correctly, you will hear the background noise while receiving the signal.
1. Hold down [ ], [ ] shows the current squelch level.
2. Press the [ ], [ ] key to select the squelch level from 0-9.
3. Press any key except [ LAMP ] and [ MONI ] to finish the setting.

Select frequency
1. Press [ ] to increase the frequency; press [ ] to decrease the frequency.
If you can not select the desired frequency, you should change the frequency step. Refer to “select frequency stepping”.
You also can input the frequency by keypad. Please refer to “input by keypad directly”.
Transmitting
1. Push and hold [ PTT ] to speak in a normal tone
Transmitting indicator shows red during holding down [ PTT ] key.
Don’t hold microphone too close to your mouth or speak too loudly, this may distort the signal.
You can select the low power to save battery power.
You can select high power, mid power or low power.
2. Release [ PTT ] to receive

1. Press [ ] key until “ ” is blinking, then press [ ] to enter the Menu mode.
2. Press [ ] / [ ] to select the desired menu.

What is Menu?
MENU includes the various setting of the transceiver. You can change some settings in the menu to meet
your require.

MENU OPERATION GUIDE
Channel Group
When you select this function, the channel you stored will automatically recognize the group, also shows the
group number.
1. BANK: Active the channel group function
128 channels will be divided into 8 groups.
NO.1- NO.16 channels display BANK1,
NO.17- NO.32 channels display BANK2,
NO.33-NO.48 channels display BANK3,
NO.49-NO.64 channels display BANK4,
NO.65-NO.80 channels display BANK5,
NO.81-NO.96 channels display BANK6,
Automatically Power Off (APO)
APO is a background function. It monitors the activity of buttons and knobs. The transceiver will be power
off automatically after a preset time.
“APO” will be blinking and you will also hear a warning tone one minute before power off.
1. Use the first menu (APO) to open (1-15 hours) or close this function.

Lock Mode (LOCK)
Hold down [ ] for two seconds to lock the key which you don’t use. There are four modes. Enter the
menu 09 to operate.
1. K+S: Lock the keypad and up/down select keys
2. PTT: Lock the PTT button to avoid transmitting wrongly.
3. KEY: Lock the keypad to avoid pressing the keypad unconsciously.
4. ALL: Lock all the buttons to stop any operation.
Backlight Control (LAMP)
Enter the menu 08 to control the keypad and LCD backlight.
1. OFF: The backlight is off whatever operation
2. KEY: The backlight is on and keeps five seconds whatever operation.
The backlight cuts off automatically while no operation. You can press [ LAMP ] to cut off the backlight
immediately.
3. CONT: keep the backlight all the time even if no operation.
Monitor the received signal when the FM radio activated (DW) (optional function)
The transceiver deactivates the FM radio automatically whiling receiving a signal. “FM” is blinking on the LCD
and the transceiver begins to receive the signal. FM radio will work again when the signal disappear for five sec.

2. NO BANK: Close this BANK function; it shows NO.1 to NO.128 channels normally.
Battery Save Function (BATSAV)
This function make the transceiver save power in case of no signal and to extend the use time. This function
canceled when open the squelch or press the buttons. Enter the menu 03 to open/close this function.
Theicons “SAVE” displays on LCD when this function is activate.
Busy Channel Lockout (BCLO)
When transceiver receives signal, it stops transmitting to avoid interfering the busy channel. Enter the menu
04 to open or close this function.
Keypad Tone (BEEP)
The transceiver will sound beep while you press one key every time.
Enter the menu 05 to open or close this function.
Real-time voltage display (DC VLT)
Enter the menu 06 to get the real-time voltage display.

Channel Name Edit (NM SET)
To edit channel name (five alphanumeric at most).
1. Press [ ] , “ ” is blinking on the LCD, then press [ ] key to enter the menu 12.
Open Message Edit (MSGSET)
You can edit the desired message while power ON. There are five alphanumeric at most.
1. Pressing [ ], “ ” is blinking on the LCD, then press [ ] to enter the menu 12.
2. Press [ ] to edit the content. The first character is blinking, use the [ ] / [ ] to select “0” ~ “9”,
“A”~ “Z”, “-“, “_”, “+”, “*” or a space.
3. Press [ ] to edit the second character.
4. Repeat step 2, 3 and press [ ] to finish the edit.
Press [ ] to delete or reedit the previous character.
Press the [ ] key to reedit.
5.Press [ ] key to exit the menu setting.
Channel Name Display Mode (NAME)
Enter the menu 11 to select the mode.
1. ALPHA: displays the channel name.
2. FREQ: displays the frequency

OFFSET (use for repeater)
This function is used for repeater operation.
1. Press [ ], “ ” is blinking on the LCD, then press [ ] to enter the menu mode.
2. Select the menu 13 (OFFSET)
3. Press [ ], then input the offset frequency.
Range from 00.000 MHZ to 69.995 MHZ (UHF).
4. Press [ ] to store and exit.
5. Press [ ] key to exit the menu setting.
2. Press [ ] to edit the contents. The first character is blinking, and use the [ ] / [ ] to select
“0” ~ “9”, “A”~ “Z”, “-“, “_”, “+” and “*”.
3. Press [ ] to edit the second character.
4. Repeat the step 2, 3 then press [ ] to finish the edit.
Open Message Display Mode (OPNMSG)
Enter the menu 14 to select the open message display mode.
1. OFF: Turn on normally; enter the frequency mode or memory channel mode directly.
2. DC: Displays the real-time voltage when turn on the transceiver.
3. MSG: Displays the message you edited when turn on the transceiver.

Open Password Protection (PSWD W)
Enter the menu 16 to set four digits as password.
The menu 15 function will be opened in default when finish the password setting.
Press [ ] to delete.
Open Password (PSWD)
Enter the menu 15 to open/close the password protection function. You should set four digts on the menu
16 before use this function.
Warning Tone When End of Transmitting (ROGER)
Enter the menu 17 to open/close the warning tone when end of transmitting.
Scan Type (SCN MD)
Enter the menu 18 to select the scan type (TO/CO/SE).
You have to select one of the scan types before using the scan function.
1. Time-operated scan (TO)
After the transceiver lock in a busy channel about five seconds, the transceiver begins scanning other
channel even the signal is receiving.
2. Carrier-operated scan (CO)
The transceiver will lock in one busy channel until there is no activity, and then it begins scanning other
Side Tone Eliminate (STE)
The beep tone eliminates after transmitting. This function is useful to headset user. Enter the menu 19 to
open/close this function.
Notice: The function works base on your partner enable it also.
Time-Out Timer (TOT)
To prevent accidental prolonged transmission, etc, or avoid of damage to transceiver. When transceiver
continuously transmits for a period, it will stop transmitting and sound a alert tone. Enter menu 20 then use
the [ ] / [ ] to select.
TX STOP (TXSTOP)
You can set the transmitting inhibit to prevent the transceiver transmitting by wrongly or unauthorized operation.
Enter the menu 21 to open/close this function.

VOX (VOX)

Setting Squelch (SQL)
In frequency mode, hold down [ ] + [ ];
Input then number on keypad (0-9).
VOX Sensitivity (VOX S)
Each speaking tone and volume is different. Test and adjust the sensitivity before use of VOX. Enter menu
24 then use [ ] / [ ] to select the sensitivity level (1-8 level).
Wide/Narrow band (WIDNAR)
Enter the menu 25 to select the desired band (WIDE/NARROW).
VOX Delay Time (VOX D)
To avoid missing the last talk time during the transceiver return to received mode. You can adjust the VOX
delay time. Enter the menu 23 then use the [ ] / [ ] to select the delay time (1s, 2s, 3s ,4s).

When you use a external headset
You must adjust the VOX gain before use the VOX function otherwise background noise may trig VOX or
your voice is not sensitive enough to trig VOX.

Select offset direction
This function is use for repeater operation
1. Set the receiving frequency then press [ ], [ ], repeat to switch among, +, - and simplex.
Simplex
CTCSS/DCS is a tone frequency which can help you not to receive the call from those who use the same
frequency. CTCSS/DCS is the squelch audio signal. 50 CTCSS and 107 DCS available.
Change Frequency Stepping
1. Select the VFO mode.
2. Press [ ], [ ] keys, the frequency stepping appear.
3. Press [ ] / [ ] keys to select the frequency stepping from
5, 6.25, 10, 12.5, 25, 37.5, 50 and 100 KHz.
4. Press any key except [ LAMP ] and [ MONI ] to finish your setting.
Use CTCSS/DCS tone
1. Press [ ], [ ] to open or close the CTCSS/DCS function.
This transceiver provides seven modes for select.

Note: The icon “ ” or “ ” shows on the LCD when this function is activated.
Setting CTCSS/DCS frequency
1. Press [ ], [ ] to open the CTCSS/DCS function.
2. Press [ ], [ ] to select the desired mode.
3. Press [ ] to confirm your select.
4 .Press [ ] and [ ] keys to set the receiving CTCSS/DCS.
5. Press [ ] / [ ] to select the desired CTCSS/DCS .
6. Then press [ ] key to set transmitting CTCSS/DCS, press [ ] / [ ] to select the desired one.
7. Press [ ] key to finish your setting.
a. OFF: No CTCSS/DCS with transmitting and receiving frequency.
b. TONE: CTCSS with transmitting frequency only
c. CTCSS : both with transmitting and receiving frequency
d. D CODE : DCS with transmitting frequency only
e. DCS: both with transmitting and receiving frequency
f. T DCS: Transmitting with CTCSS and receiving with DCS
g. D TSQL: Receiving with DCS and transmitting with CTCSS

You can use memory channel to store frequencies and other useful settings. And don’t have to reedit the
settings every time. 128 memory channels and 8 groups of memory channels available and you can also
name them (five alphanumeric letters).
Store Single Channels and Repeater Channels
1. Under the VFO mode, enter the desired frequency.
2. Press [ ] key, and “ ” is blinking on the LCD.
3. Press [ ] / [ ] to select the desired memory channel number to store.
4. Press [ ] key to finish the store.
The frequency and its settings will be store on the memory channels.
New storages will replace original ones.
It means original storages existed when memory channel number is blinking.
Memory Channel Mode
1. Press [ ] to enter the memory channel mode.
The last displayed memory channel shows.
2. Press [ ] / [ ] to select the desired memory channel.
Press [ ] key to back to VFO mode.

Delete Memory Channels
1. Select a memory channel to delete.
2. Turn OFF the transceiver.
3. Press and hold down [ ] key, rotate the power knob simultaneity to turn ON the transceiver.
4. Press [ ] / [ ] to enter MEMCLR menu, then press [ ] and RESET to confirm, the memory
channel will be deleted.
Name Memory Channels
Memory channels name available with five alphanumeric.
1. Enter the desired memory.
2. Press [ ] / [ ] to enter menu 12 and press [ ].
The first character is blinking.
3. Press [ ] / [ ] to select the first character from “0” ~ “9”, “A”~ “Z”, “-“, “_”, “+”, “*”, r a space.
4. Press [ ] key.
The second character is blinking.
5. Repeat the step 3 and step 4, five characters available
Press [ ] to re-enter.
Press [ ] to clear all.
6. Press [ ] to finish the setting.

Channel Name Only
The transceiver displays only the channel number not frequency if this function
is activated.
1. Press [ ] key and rotate simultaneously the power knob to turn ON the
transceiver.
2. Press [ ] / [ ] keys to select the M-ONLY menu, then press [ ] to
finish setting.
Note: This function is unavailable while no memory channels.
Initialize Memory
Initialize memory may solve the problem in case of your transceiver fault.
Memory channels have to reedit after memory initialized. And initialization is the shortcut to clear all memorychannels.
Switch Memory Channel Name/Channel Mode
1. Press [ ], [ ] to enter the menu mode, select menu 11.
1) ALPHA means show the name you edited.
2) FREQ means the channel name is the default name from the software.
Part Reset
To initialize the memory channels
1. Press [ ], and rotate simultaneously the power knob to turn ON the transceiver.
2. Press [ ] / [ ] key to select the SETRST menu, then press [ ] key twice to finish the setting.
All Reset
To initialize all setting.
1. Press [ ] key, and rotate simultaneously the power knob to turn on the transceiver.
2. Then press [ ] key twice to finish the setting.

Select Scan Modes
1. Press [ ], [ ] to enter menus.
2. Select the menu 18 (SCN MD).
3. Press [ ] key to enter the menu, press [ ] / [ ] keys to select the scan type (TO/CO/SE).
4. Press [ ] key to finish setting.
5. Press [ ] to exit the menu setting.
VFO Scan
VFO Scan scans all the frequencies with band.
1. Under the VFO mode, press [ ], [ ] keys to begin scanning.
Scan begins from the current frequency.

Memory Channels Scan
Memory Channels Scan scans all the stored memory channels.
1. Press [ ] key to enter the memory channels.
2. Press [ ], [ ] keys to scan.
Scan from the current channel
To invert the scan direction, press [ ] key (frequency increase) or press [ ] (frequency decrease) .
3. To cancel the memory channel scan, press any key except [ LAMP ], [ MONI ] and [ ] / [ ].
Note: At least two memory channels required.
The squelch function must be closed before scan.
Skip Memory Channels
You can lock the memory channel you don’t want to scan.
1. Select a memory channel to set as a skip channel.
2. Press [ ], [ ] keys to set the skip channel.
Note: PRI is invisible on LCD on skip channels

Keypad Lock
The keypad lock function prevents accidental frequency changes and function activation.
1. Press [ ] key (two seconds) to open or close this function.
The lock icon will appear on LCD when this function is activated.
Memory Channel Number Input
1. Press [ ] key to enter the memory channel mode.
2. Press number key to input the memory channel numbers (3 digits).
Example, you can input “003” as memory channel number.
Lamp Function
To illumine the LCD and keypad press [ LAMP ] key. The lamp will be cut off automatically after releasing
the [ LAMP ] key about five sec. Press any key except [ LAMP ], the LCD will be lighted again. To keep the
light ON, press [ ], [ ] to enter the menu, then use the [ ] / [ ] keys to set the menu 8.
FM RADIO Function (optional function)
1. Press [ ], [ ] keys to activate the FM radio function, the RADIO frequency shows on the LCD.
2. Press [ ] / [ ] keys to adjust the frequency of FM RADIO, or input the frequency by keypad directly.
(Frequency range is from 87.500MHz to 107.950 MHz).
3. Rotate the power/volume knob to adjust the volume.
4. Press [ ], [ ] keys to deactivate this function.

FM Radio Channel Store (optional function)
1. Under the VFO frequency of FM RADIO
2. Press [ ] key, then “ ” is blinking on the LCD.
One memory channel number appears.
3. Press the [ ] / [ ] keys to enter the memory channel numbers.
4. Press [ ] key to finish the store.
Setting RADIO Memory channel (optional function)
25 RADIO memory channels available
1. Press [ ] to enter the FM memory channels.
2. Press [ ] / [ ] to select the desired channels.
Press the [ ] key again back to VFO mode.
