Recently voted the country’s ‘favouritestately home’ - visitors to the home ofthe Duke and Duchess of Devonshirewill see one of Europe’s finest privatecollections of treasures housed inmagnificently decorated rooms on allthree floors of the house. There aremasterpiece paintings, neo-classicalsculptures, silverwork, tapestries,porcelain and fine furniture to be seen.
The 105 acre garden is beautiful in allseasons. It includes rose, cottage,kitchen, sensory and rock gardens -along with a maze and the famouswaterworks, including the cascade andemperor fountain.
The 1000 acre park is open throughout the year, and entry is free- great for walks and picnics.
Children will love the working farmyardand all the animals. There is achanging programme of activitiesand demonstrations. The extensivewoodland adventure playground is funfor all the family.
The cafe and licensed restaurant in the magnificent stables,serves a wide range of home-made food. To complete your visit,don’t miss the gift shops selling unique items, produce and thenew exquisite Chatsworth interiors shop.
