Philip Did What Needed to be Done in the Kingdom!

• Acts 6:1– Many were converted who had traveled to Jerusalem. – This put a strain on the church– People were being over looked and it becomes a

distraction• Acts 6:2-6– Solution: appoint some deacons/servants– Philip is one of the seven names mentioned. – Think about what these guys did…

• Philp Waited tables– That’s not glitsy/glamorous– Kingdom work isn’t glamourous (John 13)

• Philip’s response: “If this is what the kingdom needs, that’s what I will do!”– That’s the attitude we need in the kingdom, We

need more Philips!• Making practical application…

Philip was “Color-Blind”

• He is always serving in racially diverse situations• Acts 6; Hellenists (Greek-speaking Jews)• Acts 8:4-8; Samaritans– Lived to the North of Judea– Had Jewish roots– 700 years earlier Assyria settled many foreigners in the

same region. – They were a mixed group.

• Acts 8:9-13; Simon• Acts 8:26-27; Eunuch

Philip was “Color Blind”

• Philip is not concerned about background: where you came from, who your parents are, what your skin color is.

• Am I willing to Do that?– What happens when I bump into someone that

doesn’t share my culture/customs?– Philip says people need the gospel and I will serve

anyone in anyway possible so that they can see Christ crucified
