In 1936, Lewisburg natives Edith and John Fetherston purchased this formertavernandfilleditwithartandantiquesfromPennsylvaniaand around the world. The Fetherstons left their home and collections inatrusttocreate“aPublicMuseumfortheeducationalbenefitsofall persons.” Today, visitors see not only the historic building, but the Fetherstons’ treasures of glass, ceramics, textiles, furniture, paintings, Pennsylvania German decorative arts, and oriental art.

Viewfilmthewayitwasintended,attheCampusTheatre, one of America’s few remaining single-screen, Art Deco Movie Palaces. The building’s finelyappointedinterior,fromitsmirroredlobbyand lounge furnishings to the wall and ceiling muralsandlightfixtures,ismarkedbyluxuriousArt Deco quality with its rich materials and novel decorative motifs. Two 12-foot high murals adorn each mid-auditorium sidewall. In 1941, the unique beauty of the Theatre combined with the excellence ofthefilmprogrammingpromisedtomakeeveryevent at The Campus a work of art.

Slifer House: A Victorian MuseumOnce the home of Colonel Eli Slifer, a distinguished businessman, manufacturer and Secretary of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania during the Civil War, the mansion was so notable it was featured in the 19th century magazine Godey’s Lady’s Book (1862). Thehomeisnowafinemuseumfilledwithalltheaccoutrements of the Victorian era, from furnishings to china, artwork, toys, and textiles.
