a. General. The 7x50 Binocular

Enemy Use. Refer to FM 5-25.

M19 is alightweight, compact instrument intended for usein general field observation and fire direction. Theleft ocular contains a graduated angular mil scalereticle for estimating the range. The modulardesign features precollimated, fully interchangeableeyepieces, prism housings, and objective assem-blies to facilitate easy replacement in the event ofdamage to any component. All optics are fullyantireflection coated.

b. Major Components.(1) Each ocular, or telescope, of Binocular

M19 consists of three major assemblies: the ob-jective assembly, the housing assembly, and theeyepiece assembly (fig. 1-2). These modularassemblies are precollimated and prefocused and, therefore, are completely interchangeable with the

equivalent assemblies of any other Binocular M19.After each ocular is assembled, it is purged withnitrogen to remove air and to insure a dry internalatmosphere; then sealed to retain the purgedcondition. A hinge shaft and sleeve arrangementjoins the two ocular assemblies at the front andrear hinge points. Friction for holding thebinocular at the proper interpupillary setting isprovided by a clutch consisting of eleven O-ingsinstalled in grooves of the hinge shaft. The in-terpupillary scale is graduated in millimeters. Oncethe binocular is set for a particular eye spacing, note the reading on the scale for future reference.

(2) A diopter scale is located between eacheyepiece and its ocular, or housing assembly (fig.1-2). Once you have set each eyepiece to obtainthe sharpest possible focus for your eyes, note thedipter reading on each scale for future reference.

This fine document...

Was brought to you by me:

Liberated Manuals -- free army and government manuals

Why do I do it? I am tired of sleazy CD-ROM sellers, who take publicly available information, slap “watermarks” and other junk on it, and sell it. Those masters of search engine manipulation make sure that their sites that sell free information, come up first in search engines. They did not create it... They did not even scan it... Why should they get your money? Why are not letting you give those free manuals to your friends?

I am setting this document FREE. This document was made by the US Government and is NOT protected by Copyright. Feel free to share, republish, sell and so on.

I am not asking you for donations, fees or handouts. If you can, please provide a link to liberatedmanuals.com, so that free manuals come up first in search engines:
