Starting at thebottom of the roof,roll TLX Gold acrossthe rafters, and holdin place with staples

Fit a line of double-sided tape along thetop edge of the TLXGold

Lay a second roll ofTLX Gold above thefirst roll. The bottomedge should buttclosely up againstthe first roll. Fix theoverlap of breathermembrane on thetop layer of TLX Goldto the double sidedtape to create a seal.

Lay a line of singlesided tape across thestaple holes

Fit counter battensalong the line of therafters

Unroll the TLX Goldacross the top of therafters. At the end ofthe roll, cut back theTLX Gold so that itends at the middleof a rafter. Staple theend of the TLX Goldto the rafter.

Butt the end of thenext roll of TLX Goldagainst the end ofthe first roll. Staplethe second roll tothe rafter.

Tape over theoverlap and thestaples using a50mm widewaterproof tape.

Nail a 38 x 38mmcounter batten alongthe rafter to coverthe tape and holdboth pieces of TLXGold firmly in place.

Vertical joint

Fit the tile battensacross the top of thecounter battens

Nail 25mm tilingbattens across thecounter battens, andfit tiles or slates.

Construct eavesusing fascia andsoffit boards and fixguttering.

Fit eaves carrier overthe end of therafters so that it runsdown into thegutter.

Install TLX Goldabove rafters, suchthat the flange ofbreathable underlayalong the bottomedge of the TLXGold drapes over theeaves carrier. Staplethe TLX Gold to therafters

Fix counter battensdown the rafters tohold the TLX Goldsecurely in place. Fittile battens and tiles.

Fit the tile battensacross the top of thecounter battens

Eaves

Unroll TLX Goldacross the area ofthe roof window.Cut the top layer asshown in thediagram and foldback the flapsproduced by the cut.

Cut out theremaining layers ofTLX Gold around theedge of the window.

Fix the flaps formedfrom the top layer ofTLX Gold to the sidesof the windowframe.

Fit further rolls ofTLX Gold andcounter batten.

Rooflights and chimneys



Unroll the TLX Goldacross the raftersand fix with staples.

Cut the TLX Goldalong the centre ofthe ridge beam. Fix itto the beam withstaples.

Fit TLX Gold toopposite pitch in thesame way. At theridge, cut it to buttjoin with the firstside.

Run a 150mm wide(minimum) strip ofbreather membranealong the join andtape in positionusing suitable tape.

Nail 38 x 38mmcounter battensalong the rafters tohold the TLX Goldfirmly in place.

Unroll the TLX Goldacross the raftersand fix with staples.

Lap the TLX Goldover the ridge andon to the oppositepitch. Fix withstaples.

Butt the next pieceof TLX Gold up tothe edge of thepiece laid over theridge.

Run a 150mm wide(minimum) strip ofbreather membranealong the join andtape in positionusing suitable tape.


Ridge – overlapped



Ridge – cut



Unroll the TLX Goldacross the raftersand into the valleygutter. Cut the TLXGold along the angleof the valley, leavingit draped into thegutter.

Separate theinsulation layers andcut them away toleave the membranelayer only in thevalley gutter.

Fit the next layers inthe same way.



Valley

Unroll the TLX Goldacross the raftersand into the hip. Cutthe TLX Gold alongthe angle of the hipand staple in place.

Unroll TLX Goldacross the oppositerafters, and cutalong the angle ofthe hip. Staple inplace

Fit the other layers inthe same way andtape the butt jointusing a suitablesingle-sided tape.

For added watertightness use a150mm wide(minimum) strip ofbreather membranealong the join andtape in position.
