The year 2015 is an in important one in the tax justice calendar in Africa.
In January, African Union leaders adopted the ground-breaking report (and recommendations) of the AU/UNECA High Level Panel on Illicit Flows from Africa and in July, Africa will host the 3rd
International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD). These events are set to significantly shape developments in Africa and indeed the rest of the world in the coming years.
TJN-A are partners are determined to make their contribution towards making Africa (and the world at large) a better place. Here is a line-up of key TJN-A events. Be a part of this!
a. PAN-AFRICAN MPS NETWORK ON IFFS & TAX MEETING The second meeting of the Pan-African Parliamentarians Network on IFFs and Tax will
parliamentarians from across Africa to dialogue and develop a work plan to assist their countries
and Africa as a whole to Stop, Track and Get back the continents resources lost through illicit financial flows to fund Africa countries structural transformation.

b. INTERNATIONAL TAX JUSTICE ACADEMY
In 2014 Tax Justice Network-Africa (TJN-A) launched the International Tax Justice Academy. The maiden academy brought 97 participants from 27 countries, from all five African regional blocs as
well as Europe and Latin America. This years academy set to be bigger and better. The 2015 tax academy will build on the foundation laid in 2014 towards building knowledge -
driven pool of African tax justice activists from CSOs to academia to the media to promote domestic resource mobilisation in Africa to underpin the continents development.
This years theme is: Financing Africas Economic Development: Where is the Money?

c. AFRICA MEDIA TRAINING PROGRAMME ON TAX, IFFs & IFF
Africas media is growing in confidence, quality and shaping views right around the continent and the world. This tailor-made programme will bring media practitioners from across Africa to further sharpen their skills to investigate and better report on IFFs, tax and domestic resource mobilisation
to fund Africas economic development. Seasoned activists and award-winning journalists will facilitate this hands-on training.

. d. LAUNCH OF IWG AFRICA IFF CAMPAIGN ON IFFS FROM AFRICA
TJN-A and its partners will launch a multi-year campaign tentatively dubbed Stop the Bleeding of Africas Resources Through Illicit Flows. The campaign seeks to build a mass movement behind the fight against
illicit financial flows from Africa as well as mobilise policymakers at all levels (national, sub-regional, continental and global) to effect the necessary policy changes to curb IFFs from Africa. A media and public
launch will be preceded by a workshop.

e. PAN-AFRICAN CONFERENCE ON IFF & TAX This annual event will bring CSO actors across Africa to strategize around tax, IFF and related
emerging issues to enhance collaboration, networking and mobilisation for advocacy. Date: September 21 23, 2015

f. TAX AND CSR CONFERENCE
How can Development Finance Institutions (DFI) especially in Africa integrate responsible tax
principles and criteria in their operations? This meeting will specifically discuss how the African Development Bank (AfDB) can include such tax principles and criteria in their operations.
Participants will include policymakers, AfDB, companies, investors, CSR professionals, CSOs, the
media and researchers. Date: September 24, 2015 Venue: Kampala, Uganda
