Titanfall PRODUCT Titanfall is a 2014 first-person shooter multiplayer video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts exclusively for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game was released for Windows and Xbox One on March 11, 2014, with an Xbox 360 release to follow in April. Respawn was formed in 2010 by the co- founders of Infinity Ward, the development studio behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The company announced Titanfall as their debut game at Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference. Players fight either on foot as free-running "Pilots" or inside agile mech-style walkers called "Titans" to complete team-based objectives on a derelict and war-torn planet as either the Interstellar Manufacturing Corporation (IMC) or the Militia. The game is online multiplayer- only, but adds single-player elements such as plot, character dialogue, and non-player characters (NPCs). Up to twelve human players choose their pilot types and are dropped on the map, beginning the game. A timer displays the time until a Titan can be deployed, which is reduced by killing other players. Once deployed, Titans are protected by a force field for about 30 seconds, which protects the player-pilot as well.

PRODUCT Titanfall is a 2014 first-person shooter multiplayer video game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts exclusively for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. The game was released for Windows and Xbox One on March 11, 2014, with an Xbox 360 release to follow in April. Respawn was formed in 2010 by the co-founders of Infinity Ward, the development studio behind Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The company announced Titanfall as their debut game at Microsoft's E3 2013 press conference.

PRICE The price of Titanfall varies from each platform. Xbox One is the most expensive; the average retail price from online media outlets such as Play.com and Amazon is around £45-£50. Xbox 360 is slightly cheaper at around £40 and the PC version can be as cheap as £27. This order of price is due to a number of things. The Xbox One edition Titanfall is more expensive as the Xbox One is the newest console available and you normally pay extra for new console games. It also needed to be more expensive than the Xbox 360 version as it is an older console and so Xbox 360 users would not expect to pay the same amount, and seeing as £40 is the normal RRP for new releases on Xbox 360, the Xbox One version had to be more. The PC version however is significantly cheaper than both Xbox versions. This is somewhat due to the fact that it is a downloadable version of the game, meaning it isn’t a physical copy. This means that there are no costs for producing the case and disc for the game as well as costs for shipping and shop overheads. These factors allow the publishers to lower the price.

Titanfall also is available in an Xbox One bundle deal. For £399.99 you can receive a copy of Titanfall along with an Xbox One. An Xbox One alone can cost up to £430.00, so the bundle deal is a great way of persuading people to buy and play Titanfall.

The “Ultimate” Titanfall deal however is the Collector’s Edition. This bundle can cost from £290 - £350. The collector’s edition includes a copy of Titanfall, a 180-page book filled with Titanfall artwork, a schematics poster of the Atlas map within the game and an exclusive collectible 18” Titan statue. This can now only be bought online, and rarely can you find a brand new edition from a media outlet, you will mostly be able to buy them on eBay.

PLACE Titanfall can be bought in supermarkets such as Tescos and Sainsburys, media stores such as GAME and VHM, online media outlets such as Play.com and Amazon and also on the EA game marketplace on the PC, Origin. The variety of ways to buy the game helps appeal to a wider audience, some people like to have a physical copy of a game instead of just downloading it onto their console/PC.

PROMOTION Titanfall has had plenty of promotion and advertising, including TV and YouTube adverts, website banner ads, posters and also through other products. For example, Titanfall energy drink has been sold to help promote the game and to also create more revenue. As Titanfall is a Microsoft exclusive, and also because Titanfall is the “Killer app” for the Xbox One, Microsoft have also been heavily promoting the game to benefit themselves as well, including Titanfall in their Xbox One TV adverts.
