Minimal overlap of part width sections

Comparison using the example of the 27 m Super-L2 boom9 part width sections à 3 m 3 m x 3 m / 2 x 9 = 40.50 m2

54 single nozzles à 0.5 m 0.5 m x 0.5 m / 2 x 54 = 6.75 m2 ≙ 83 % less overlap area

Compared to manual control, the GPS switch already offers resource savings of 3 % to 8 %

With AmaSelect and 50 cm part width sections, overlaps can be reduced to minimal areas and plant protection products can be precisely applied

50 cm part width sections – Saving of plant protection products

Example:• Field crop farm• 1800 ha arable land• UX 11200, 36 m, 13 part width sections

Procedure for the assessment:

Analysis of real field runs and area structures

Surface area(field

boundary)Worked area Overlapping

area

Important:All runs without additional overlapping from SectionControl

• Overlap on the field is only caused by part width section sizes!

Sample areas:Result with 13 part width sections:• Ø field size: 52.41 ha• Ø worked area: 54.18 ha

• Ø overlap: 1.74 ha 4.51 %

• 50 cm part width sections (72 part width sections)• Ø overlap: 0.32 ha 0.81%

Efficiency:• Field area: 1800 ha

• Fraction of overlap: • 13 part width sections: 81.23 ha• 50 cm part width sections: 14.67 ha

• Savings: 66.56 ha• Costs for plant protection products: 200 euro / ha per year

Savings of plant protection products: 13,313.00 euro/year

Single plant application by spot spraying4Problem The application of total herbicide is generally

performed over the full area The weed distribution is irregular and never over the

full area The active substance must be applied onto the green

plants and not on the soil.

Treatment of the individual plants is the ecological and economical optimum.

Solution approach The intelligent AmaSpot system only wets

the green plants Compared to full area application, the

intelligent AmaSpot system achieves 20 to 80 % savings of plant protection products!

AmaSpot – System layout, schematic top view

Each sensor with four individual channels per metre controls four electrically controlled nozzles at a spacing of 25 cm

50 Hz switching frequency through pulse width frequency modulation (PWFM)

Fluorescence measurement is very precise and tolerant towardsdust and varying light conditions and ensures reliable plant detection

AmaSpot operating modes

Three different operating modes can be selected depending on the application.

• On/off switching− Maximum savings− Risk of residual weeds

• On/off switching with full area reduced basic spraying− High savings− High efficacy

• Complete full area spraying− No savings− For applications that do not allow

reductions
