Data Centre / Services – final wordData Centre / Services – final word• The ‘Premier’ vs. ‘Traditional’ data center

- Premier services around best practices, crisis management expertise, power management, smart cooling technology, content delivery network, complex computing

- Traditional services will remain but focus will be on delivering them at lower price points. These include co-location, web hosting & security

- Green footprint (especially a key focus in ANZ and PRC but expanding quickly to other markets)

• Larger plans (2009-2010) include Singtel (200K sq ft), IDA (2M sq ft – 90% estimated to have already taken up), AIMS (400K sq ft), Equinix (pending); AT&T, BT, VzB are looking at India; Savvis, OBS are all looking into PRC

• IT vendors are leveraging their ‘in-house’ data centers to increase utilization rate especially among their large strategic customer accounts

• Singapore (AP), Malaysia (lower-end alternative for Singapore), HK (Greater China), India (Global), PRC (Offshoring) and Australia (Green) are the markets where the local governments are very aggressive in drawing in investments on Data centers

• IDC estimates 60% of enterprise data center space is utilized and 70-80% for carrier/hoster data centers

• Compliance / Patriot Act also fueling local activity
