Audacity Tutorial

We’re going to learn how to edit audio digitally using a program called Audacity. Here’s what you need to get started:

1. Please make sure you are using headphones for this assignment! You will need to bring in 3.5mm headphones for the remainder of the semester!

2. Log into your computer, open your H: Drive and create a new folder and name it “Audio Assignments” (If you haven’t done so already).

3. Next, open Mr. Da Silva’s website and click the “Audio Production” tab.

4. There you will find a sound clip from “The Simpsons” TV series. Either right click on the clip (bart.wav) and select “Save Link As…” or click on DOWNLOAD, then SHOW ALL, stagger your windows so you can see both your downloads and your H: Drive, then drag the clip into your audio folder in your H: Drive, make sure it’s saved as a .wav file. Just like saving some of the pictures from previous units.

Once you have all the files downloaded, now you’re ready to begin!
