Dimpy Kohli, State President, Shiv Sena informed this while talking to media persons here today in the presence of Chairman Avinash Bhatia, Deputy Chairman Rakesh Gupta and General Secretary Manish Sahni. Kohli said that for last 35 years, the Shiv Sena is organising this Chhari Yatra to the Holy Cave of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi on the auspicious occasion of Navratras. He informed that Party National leaders like National Secretary and Member Parliament Anil Desai, Chander Kant Khera and Raju Shivalik besides various leaders and thousands of pilgrims from Punjab, Delhi and J and K are participating in the Holy Chhari Yatra. He said that the Yatra will start from Hari Singh Park, Samadya Road and after covering Ragunath Bazaar, Purani Mandi, City Chowk and various parts of city in the shape of Shoba Yatra will proceed to Katra. STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: A number of dis- placed persons, under the banner of PoJK DPs Front, today held a rally at Press Club, here under the chair- manship of Yudhvir Singh Chib. Speaking on the occasion, Chib said, "After seven decades, Government of India sanctioned funds of Rs 2,000 crore for providing relief to PoJK DPs, two years back but, the process of disburse- ment of relief is going on at a snail's pace due to reshuffling/ transfer of concerned revenue officials. Even the authorities are demanding a lot of docu- ments before sanctioning relief, thus adding to the woes of already suffering people, he said. During the visit of Union Home Minister to J and K, the POJK DP's delegation met him and briefed him about the problems which they are facing for filling the claim forms, he said adding that HM assured the DPs that one documentary proof is sufficient for establishment of the DPs family. STATE TIMES NEWS LEH: Indian delegation led by Jigmet Takpa, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MOEF&CC) comprising Satya Pal Vashishth, DIG Forests, MOEF&CC, Surabhi Rai, Director, Ministry of Rural Development and represen- tatives of numerous scientific institutions and civil society organizations participated in the 13th session of Conference of Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) held from September 6-16 in Ordos, Inner Mongolia, China. More than 5,000 delegates from 196 countries attended the conference, including 80 ministers from affected countries. Globally, 169 countries are affected by desertification. More than 2 billion hectares of productive land are esti- mated to be degraded, which accounts for 1/3rd of the world's land. More than 1.5 billion people are estimated to be living off degraded land. Jigmet Takpa announced India's willingness to join the UNCCD Land Degradation Neutrality Target Setting Programme (LDN TSP) at a high-level ministerial meet- ing. India is now the 112th country to join the LDN TSP, after Brazil. So far, 113 of 169 countries have expressed interest in recover- ing large areas of degraded over the next 12 years, under the special global initiative of the Land Degradation Neutrality Target Setting Programme. Takpa held several meet- ings with the UNCCD Secretariat and partner agencies such as the Global Environment Facility (GEF), Global Mechanism (GM), and LDN Fund on issue of financing and sup- porting projects to combat desertification, land degra- dation, and drought in India. He said, "Desertification and land degradation are very critical issues that affect everything from biodiversity, economics, livelihoods, socie- ty, climatic cycles and gender empowerment. Government of India is committed to mit- igating this challenge at dif- ferent levels in the country, while also working together with other countries and partner agencies to address this problem at the global level." The conference ended with agreement from 113 countries to specify concrete targets, with clear indicators to reverse degradation and rehabilitate more land. This toilet complex has been constructed and will be main- tained by Sulabh International Social Service Organisation on pay and use basis for 30 years. On this occasion a meeting and photo exhibition was organised by Sulabh International for the awareness of the sanitation programme under 'Swachhata Hi Seva Hai' Pakhwada. In a meeting of KPC activists held here on Wednesday, Kundan asked the community members to work in unison for the welfare of the KP community. He cautioned the KP community claiming that all political and non--polit- ical organisations, separatists, so--called secularists, State and central governments are hell bent to hamper the the 28 years long struggle for perma- nent rehabilitation of commu- nity and complete integration of J&K State with rest of the India. This is only a propaganda by the ruling parties so that they can live within the param- eters of their blunders and fail- ures, he added. NPP Supremo suggest- ed that the scientific methods need to be evolved in order to wipe off terrorism, militancy and stop bloodshed of the inno- cent people. NPP Supremo declared that a national convention shall be held on 26th and 27th October, 2017, the anniversary of the Accession which was signed by the Maharaja of J&K and has not been ratified or counter signed by the Parliament of India till date. He said that the Parliament of India has a chance to rectify the blunder of earlier Parliaments and the Governments of India. NEW DELHI: Appealing tothe entire Kashmiri Pandit(KP) community particularlythe leaders and activists ofvarious organisations,President Kashmiri PanditConference (KPC) KundanKashmiri urged them to shundifferences and work togetherfor the overall interest of thecommunity and the country.

In a meeting of KPCactivists held here onWednesday, Kundan asked thecommunity members to workin unison for the welfare of theKP community.
