Afternoon with Administration Zoom Presentation Slides

Frequently asked questions and answers about distance learning as of April 6, 2020

Is there a plan currently for Confirmation/ First Communion?

These directives will come from the Archbishop/ Archdiocese of Washington Office of Catechesis. As soon as they share the information with us, we will pass

that along to parents.

We will continue to provide Religious Education through our virtual platforms, Monday morning prayer service, gospel reflections on Wednesdays, and weekly

rosary on Thursdays.

How are grading/assessments being handled?

For Phase 2, 4th-8th grade students will be graded with letter grades. Phase 3 may look differently. PK-3rd grade students will continue using the standards

based report cards.

There will be no Scantron assessments for the rest of the school year.

Teachers are assessing students through the assignments/ zoom calls weekly.

Instructional Minutes/AssignmentsFor Phase 2, all teachers are currently following the ADW directives for suggested

learning minutes.

This is a mixture of online learning via zoom, instructional videos, and independent assignments.

All specials areas have provided independent assignments for the week on the homework website.

For grades 1-3 it is suggested for students to be doing school work for no more than 2 hours a day during this time.

Holy Redeemer School’s HSA

Hawks Helping Hawks Spring Into Action Challenge

THE CAUSE: Holy Redeemer’s Home School Association (HSA) in conjunction with the Kindness Committee are looking to assist those Holy Redeemer School families unable to fulfill their 2019-2020 tuition obligations as a result of the COVID-19 crisis. 100% of the funds raised will be earmarked by HSA for this cause. HOW IT WORKS:

● Make a minimum donation of $25 per-family (additional donations are most appreciated) ● Get out and run, walk, scoot, or bike while practicing social distancing from April 9th through

May 20th ● Snap a pic or two and post it on social media using our hashtags #HawksHelpingHawks and

#HawksSpringIntoAction ● Encourage others (Grandparents, cousins, friends, neighbors, etc… to participate) ● Log your family’s total miles using whatever method you would like (if 4 family members each

walk 1 mile this would count as 4 miles towards your total) ● Submit your miles to [email protected] by 5pm on May 20th using the

google form which will be available on the Go Fund Me page ● Please note: All donations are greatly appreciated and there is no obligation to participate in

the fitness portion of the event. ● Hop on over to our Go Fund Me page for more details!

THE FINISH LINE: The 3 families that log the most miles will win a prize! If the school reaches our donation goal the entire school will win a prize! Winners will be announced on May 22nd!
