#yolo #tbt #whatdoesthisevenmean? Hashtags might have started with Twitter, but now they are all over social media including Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and more. You’ll see a word or a string of word strung together with a pound sign (#). Originally just intended for classification, hashtags have taken on a life of their own, but can sometimes be hard to decipher. Join us as we explore the origins of hashtags, how people are using them today, and how to decode some of these mysterious hashtag phrases. We’ll also discuss best practices using them in a library setting. Biography ~ Rachel Eichen Rachel Eichen is a certified presenter who has had over three years of teaching experience. She has taught computer classes to passengers on the Grand Princess cruise ship, which included such topics as Adobe Photoshop and Microsoft Office. She also taught classes while working within the software industry. She enjoys learning about new technology trends and loves sharing this information with others. Rachel holds a Master’s degree in Library & Information Science and a bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing.
