wants to continue the dialogue we started at Mobile World

Congress in 2015 with thought leaders, industry insiders

and other inspiring people. Therefore we invite promising

innovators, like DS TAGS, onto our stage to present their

product and share their vision of the future with us.

DS Tags is based at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport and is led

by experienced professionals with experience in innovation

in the aviation-, IT- and consumer electronics industry.

With the BAGTAG, they faced the challenge to reimagine

the traditional thermal paper bag tag for the aviation

industry and come up with a design that is able to

withstand the harsh conditions checked baggage has to

endure, is simple to use anytime, anywhere and still looks

desirable. The result is more than just an electronic bag tag

device. It’s the world’s first secure end-to-end electronic

bag tag solution, destined to replace the traditional paper

bag tag.

The BAGTAG solution has been designed as a secure

airline-independent solution, which fully supports

interlining

Together with the airlines providing online baggage check-

in, the BAGTAG solution enables highly convenient off-air-

port baggage check-in and an estimated 85% faster

baggage drop-off process at the airport. The patent pen-

ding BAGTAG solution is advanced in every way. It consists

of a secure electronic bag tag device, a cloud-based travel

document delivery services platform and a dedicated

airline software development kit for storing travel

documents and transferring bag tag data to the BAGTAG

device.

At Mobile World Congress 2016 Erik Harkes will present

the BAGTAG, describe his relationship with NXP and his

vision for making travel easier. And of course there is the
