NEW DELHI, Feb 1:
About Rs 180 crore has beenallocated to the PersonnelMinistry for 2017-18 to augmenttraining facilities for bureaucrats.
Of the total, Rs 60.61 crore hasbeen earmarked for the Ministry tomeet establishment-related expen-diture of Delhi-based Institute ofSecretariat Training andManagement (ISTM) and LalBahadur Shastri NationalAcademy of Administration(LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
Both the ISTM andLBSNAA hold several trainingprogrammes to equip IAS, IPSand IFoS officers and all otherlevels of secretarial functionar-ies with adequate exposure torules, regulations and aptitude.
Another Rs 119.37 crore has
been allocated under a separatehead for training schemes thatinclude upgradation ofLBSNAA to a centre of excel-lence and for augmentation oftraining facilities at ISTM.
In all, Rs 179.98 crore hasbeen earmarked for this purposeto the Personnel Ministry asagainst Rs 179.17 crore given toit for the financial year endingnext-month end.
A sum of Rs 25.42 crore hasbeen allocated for transparencywatchdog Central InformationCommission (CIC) and govern-ment's head hunter PublicEnterprises Selection Board(PESB) for the next fiscal.
About Rs 28 crore has been
given to the CIC and PESB for2016-17.
The grant is for establish-ment-related expenditure ofboth the bodies.
The CIC has also been allo-cated Rs 25.47 crore for con-struction of its office building,dak digitisation, setting up ofvideo conferencing facilities,setting up of call centre andestablishment of wing for trans-parency and accountability stud-ies for the Commission.
Central AdministrativeTribunals (CATs), which areentrusted with the redressal ofgrievances of public servants,have been allocated Rs 105.81crore for 2017-18 to meet estab-
lishment-related expenditure. Ithas been given Rs 104.62 crorefor the ongoing financial year.
The Government has also
allocated Rs 1.5 crore for 2017-18 under the provision meant forreimbursement to state govern-ments towards House BuildingAdvances paid to all India serv-ice (IAS, IPS and IFoS) offi-cers.(PTI)
