PRIESTS PONDERINGS.
Have you ever headed off somewhere and suddenly
realised that your journey has taken a turn and you have ended
up in a place you never intended to be? I think that happens
to most of us from time to time! We intended to go to the shop
and buy 1 carton of milk and suddenly here I am having an
in-depth discussion over a cup of coffee.
Our faith can also be a bit this way, we set out to be good and
faithful servants and suddenly we realise that it has become
more about our own desire to be Godly than our Christian
values. The me and I can quickly take over and even when we
have started out with good intentions, somewhere that can get a
little confused. The tricky bit is in realizing this is happening
and then it is often not difficult to get back on track.
We often hear lines in scripture like – “Open your eyes”,
“Listen to him” and “Pay attention”. Perhaps we need to heed
this advice and occasionally stop and reflect on who and
where we are, on what we are trying to do and where God
might be leading us.
Blessings
Fr Peter

FOR YOUR DIARY
Today’s reading from Jeremiah shows us Jeremiah’s scribe Baruch being told by God to focus only on the things that are not passing away (that is, the things of God) and not to worry about status, because the world he knew was about to pass away. It was the
same for James – the world he knew was about to be turned upside down by the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Pray that we will be able to concentrate on the things that really matter,
rather than on distractions such as status.
Give thanks for the Church of the Province of Myanmar.
