    Newsletter No 6 February 2020

    Dear Parents, Governors and Friends,

The children have continued to work hard this term and are

hopefully on track to achieve the challenging targets that they have been set. I hope that you will

find Parents Evening useful; your support as always is crucial. The difference you make when you

support your child with reading and homework is always noticeable in school and I cannot stress

enough how much staff appreciate this.

Why do we have ‘Hook Days’? To make learning as enjoyable and fun as possible

  • Contact Details

It is vitally important that we have the correct contact details for parents/carers and also an

emergency contact in case you are not available. Please let Mrs Fung in the School Office know if

you have changed your phone number or e-mail address.

Indoor Football Tournament at the Bourne Community College, Monday 28 January

We had a very enjoyable evening with all the boys showing great determination. Some of our

players just need to learn to go for accuracy when shooting not power. This is something we will

work on. Overall the team played extremely well only conceding one goal.

Play and Share – Owl Classes

I would like to say a big thank you to all the parents who made it to the ‘Play and Share’ session.

Showing an interest in what your child is learning is so important and makes such a difference to

how they view learning and how they approach school work. It is not called Foundation Stage for

nothing; if you build strong foundations the rest of school should go well.

  • Clown Day – Osprey Class – A picture paints a thousand words!

Kestrel Class and Harrier Class visit St Nicholas Church on Thorney Island

I would like to thank the Padre for giving up his time to talk to the children all about the

    importance of baptism.

    Merlin Class visit Dell Quay

Merlin Class had an excellent Day at Dell Quay working with Chichester Harbour Conservancy to

use the natural environment as a starting point for art work. The rain held off for most of the day

which made the day even better! The children produced some excellent pieces of work and their

behaviour was outstanding. I would like to thank all the parents who helped with the visit as

without your support we would not be able to do such things.

  • Falcon Class visit to Gilbert White’s House

Indoor Netball Tournament at the Bourne Monday 3 February

The team played extremely well winning all of their games. Miss Goss was very proud of them and I

know that some of these players, along with new ones, will be playing next week at the Bourne. I do

hope that they do as well then and that we remember to take the camera so we can have a picture

of the team! Again thank you to all those parents who drove as without your support events like

    this would not be possible.
