Interests

Ecosystem health and sustainability; environmental indicator development; effects of pollution;

management of freshwater natural resources.

Summary

My research program includes applied concepts related to the ecology and conservation of aquatic

systems with emphasis on freshwater fish and crayfish. My research investigates practical problems in

water pollution and resource management. The goals of my research are to determine the function of

community dynamics in freshwater systems. My studies involve applied research focused on the use of

anthropogenically modified habitats affected by landscape change, contaminants, and disturbance

gradients within watersheds. My studies use aquatic biological assemblages to evaluate patterns,

develop indicators, and evaluate biological response associated with stressor gradients.
