Thank you This Week’s Congratulations go to:- Reception Ash Class – Alfie for having a super attitude towards school and challenging himself when he is exploring in the classroom independently. You have really persevered and wanted to do more and more. Well done. Obie for being one of our 'sound superstars' this week and being particularly focussed during our phonics sessions. You have really tried hard to practise and use your sounds. Fantastic. Oak Class - Lewie for showing great control and skill during PE especially when throwing the javelin. Freddie for amazing maths work this week finding one more that a number beyond 10. Elm Class - Jax for settling so well this week and coming in for the whole morning. We are so proud. Franklyn for being an amazing mathematician. You are confident with your doubles and writing and solving number problems. Well done. Year One Palm Class — George for his super ‘can-do’ attitude towards his phonics. He has been trying really hard to apply the new sounds he has learnt in his reading and writing. Keep it up. Achanio for your amazing Presentation Power. You have been working so hard on your handwriting and have written a super diary this week. Well done. Hazel ClassElsie for fantastic maths this week. You were able to explain your ideas and didn't give up when it was a little tricky. You are a superstar. Myla you were a fantastic explorer and were able to use the iPad and books to find and write information all about our London enquiry. Willow ClassBoux you have settled into Willow Class brilliantly. We are lucky to have you. Sam you have been trying super hard to keep your letters really neat. Keep it up. Year Two Chestnut ClassAlaska for an excellent first week at her new school. She has settled into our routines well and has worked really hard with her maths and writing. Emily for writing excellent paragraphs of information about turtles and cranes. She included lots of exciting words such as openers, conjunctions and adjectives to make her writing interesting. Hawthorn ClassLilah-Rose has been set some very challenging work this week and has risen to the challenge, well done. Brayden has tried so hard to get up the rocket today. He is listening and working hard. Sycamore ClassLaila-May for taking more pride in her presentation. Keep concentrating on your handwriting. Mouna for sharing information about Ramadan so enthusiastically with us. Thank you. Children must come to school in their school uniform, with plain socks and dark shoes. In Reception they have been busy planting seeds and learning about how things grow as well as doubling and halving. Check out Tapestry for weekly updates. You can support your child by reading with them at home regularly– regular readers move up the rocket! In Year One they are learning all about London. You can support your child by sharing any knowledge you have about our capital city and using Google or Google maps to look at famous landmarks such as The London Eye, Houses of Parliament or The Shard and Tower Bridge. In Year Two their Under the Sea theme from last term has evolved into ‘Water, Water, Every- where’ and they are learning about how water is in every part of our lives. They started the Enquiry with Grace Darling and lighthouses. You can join your child on this journey of exploration by asking them what they have enjoyed learning so far and building on this together to deepen their knowledge.
