This weekend is our Diocesan
Services Appeal Commitment
Weekend. I invite all members
of our parish community to join
in support of our annual appeal.
Our St. Mary goal is $58,463.
I would like to remind you that
all paid pledge monies received, over and above
our parish goal, will be returned to our parish for
our local use here at St. Mary Parish. No gift is too
small… every dollar donated helps us meet, and
even exceed, our parish goal.
You can submit your DSA pledge envelope during
Mass this weekend - or take your DSA envelope
home, prayerfully consider your gift amount, and
return your completed pledge form, in the DSA
envelope, to our parish office. I encourage every
one of our parish households to reflect on the many
blessings we have received from the Lord and
share these blessings through a generous gift to
DSA.
RCIA Rite of Election Last Saturday, February 13th, Bishop Boyea
called the following CANDIDATE to continuing conversion:
Ginger Carpenter
We congratulate her and offer our prayers and support as she moves toward complete
initiation into the sacred mysteries at the Easter Vigil.
-St. Mary RCIA
IT’S A POLISH PARTY
No, there will be no oompah band, no
pierogis or kapusta. When we say
BYOB, we mean bring your own
Brasso, along with your orphan socks
and old T-shirts. It’s time again to make this place
shine -- We need to make our Worship Space fit for a
king. Come Saturday morning, February 27 at 10:00--if
you can bring some cleaning supplies it will make
everything go faster. We need to polish the brass
candlesticks, the stair rails, everything brass. Many
hands make light work, and the more volunteers that
come, the more fun we'll have as we work! All ages
and abilities welcome.
Open House Opportunities for St. Mary Catholic School St. Mary Catholic School will be hosting an Open House on each Thursday from 1:30-2:30 for the rest of the school year. During the open house, potential families will view students learning through the use of interactive white boards, working with Chrome computers in the classroom, and working and learning together through group and individual work. All are welcome to come and Witness the Difference at St. Mary in Pinckney. By calling the school office at 734-878-5616, parents can request additional times for tours for their students in grades preschool to 8th grade.

We base our lives on the four Dominican pillars of prayer, study, community, and preaching/ministry. We welcome single Catholic women to come and discern God’s call in your life with us.

Second Sunday of Lent “The Gospel for the Second Sunday of Lent is a
message of hope that sustains us throughout the forty
days of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. With Peter,
James and John, we are invited to ascend the
mountain of revelations with Jesus and to glimpse the
glory of divinity hidden within his humanity. Like
them, we cannot remain on the mountain for long, but
can take heart knowing that the saving power of God
is transforming us each day into the glorious image of
Christ. May this Lent help us appreciate this wonder
with gratitude and awe”.

Dear Lord, during this Lenten Season hear the prayers
of our church community. Help our hearts to be open to
you and let your light shine upon those that need
hope and strength. You are the Great Physician
and Healer, look upon those that need your healing.
Protect those who are serving our Country overseas
and we ask for prayers of peace in lands stricken by war
and violence. Hear the prayers of the faithful and help
us to draw closer to you, Amen.
