Second Sunday of Lent “The Gospel for the Second Sunday of Lent is a

message of hope that sustains us throughout the forty

days of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. With Peter,

James and John, we are invited to ascend the

mountain of revelations with Jesus and to glimpse the

glory of divinity hidden within his humanity. Like

them, we cannot remain on the mountain for long, but

can take heart knowing that the saving power of God

is transforming us each day into the glorious image of

Christ. May this Lent help us appreciate this wonder

with gratitude and awe”.

Dear Lord, during this Lenten Season hear the prayers

of our church community. Help our hearts to be open to

you and let your light shine upon those that need

hope and strength. You are the Great Physician

and Healer, look upon those that need your healing.

Protect those who are serving our Country overseas

and we ask for prayers of peace in lands stricken by war

and violence. Hear the prayers of the faithful and help

us to draw closer to you, Amen.
