Summary Life insurance is a key financial product for funding a well-designed estate plan. ILITs are a key tool for keeping the death benefits from life insurance outside of the insured’s estate. Private financing, premium financing, and GRATs are all strategies for funding ILITs that work best when interest rates are low.
